The Chinoiserie Bathroom

Jennifer Wright - House & Home

Red, white and blue rooms are so often not done well, but this one is perfection, from the marble clad tub to the Moroccan trellis wallpaper, the blue and white Chinese cachepot with an orchid and that red pagoda mirror. Seriously Chinoiserie Chic! I love the navy and white striped soap dispenser too - a wonderful little nautical touch.

Let's find a pagoda mirror.

The Chinoiserie Powder Room

Dunbar Road Design

Here is a darling powder room with many chinoiserie touches. A bamboo pagoda mirror, Greek key sconces, a pagoda embroidered hand towel, and a vintage blue and white Chinese porcelain monkey add so much personality. I have two of these monkeys that I use in my master bath next to the tub. I found them at Goodwill many years ago. They can be used. in so many rooms in so many ways. The wallpaper is Schumacher's Feather Bloom by Celerie Kemble.

More Blue and White

Thibaut

Thibaut fabric and wallpaper combine with blue and white Chinese porcelain and a faux bamboo pagoda mirror in this crisp space. Touches of gold and pink ALWAYS work with blue and white.

The Blue and White Powder Room

Courtney Blanton Interiors

This pretty powder room features Lee Jofa wallpaper, a silver pagoda mirror, and a marble washstand. The paneling provides framing for this beautiful chinoiserie paper.

I do wish the hand towel had a blue monogram. I love white towels, but this looks a tad sad. And the staged flowers tied with a ribbon is just wrong. And is that a silver wine bottle coaster? The staging here is a distraction.

The Chinoiserie Powder Room

Grace Brackman Design

This is THE powder room for the lover of chinoiserie. The walls are covered in Brunschwig & Fils Xian, a favorite classic chinoiserie pattern. There is a faux bamboo vanity, a faux bamboo pagoda mirror, and even a tiny blue and white Chinese porcelain vase.

Mixing Chinoiserie

James Farmer

Lots of chinoiserie patterns (and other patterns) are going on here, but it all works, doesn't it? And I am generally not a fan of colored lampshades, but these green are quite fresh and lovely used here. The wallpaper is Schumacher.

Old School/Grandmillennial

Valentino - Architectural Digest

I have saved this photo of Valentino's chateau outside of Paris for ages and I found it this morning and still adore it. This is the winter garden. Check out this other shot below of the same room with that stunning English Chinoiserie mirror. I adore all the Chinoiserie including the Chinese garden stool, ginger jars, figures, framed Chinese panels, the pagoda mirror, and that faux bamboo cocktail table that holds famille rose plates. The fringed banquette in mint green striped silk is to die for. This is so Old School, but is timeless, especially with its grandmillennial style.

The Chinoiserie Bathroom

Carla Fonts Hrncir - Luxe Interiors

This wonderful bathroom features lots of Chinoiserie including a pagoda bamboo mirror, Greek key sconces, a monogrammed pagoda guest towel, and a darling blue and white Chinese porcelain monkey. I have a very similar pair that I love that I found at Goodwill for $11.00. Wallpaper is Schumacher's Feather Bloom by Celerie Kemble, a very lovely sisal.

Here are mine in my breakfast room.

Unexpected Chinoiserie

Robin Gannon - Veranda Magazine

The Kohler clawfoot tub is flanked with a pair of drapery panels rather than a shower curtain. An oversized Chinoiserie pagoda mirror adds drama to this guest bathroom.

A petite entryway but quite chic with its Chinoiserie elements - a pair of celadon Chinese garden stools, a faux bamboo pagoda mirror, and an orchid.

The Chinoiserie Dining Room

T. Keller Donovan - House Beautiful

At first blush, this room does not seem to be heavy on the Chinoiserie, but a closer look reveals bamboo Chinese Chippendale chairs, a gilded pagoda mirror, and a pagoda lantern. A lovely dining room.

The Chinoiserie Entryway

A modern and monochromatic approach to Chinoiserie - I like the bamboo console table and the pair of Greek key pagoda mirrors.

The Chinoiserie Entry

Jill Goldberg - New England Home
If you love color and Chinoiserie, this entry is one for you. The walls are covered in a blue Phillip Jeffries grasscloth. The stair runner is leopard. A Bernhardt leather bench is upholstered in spring leaf green. An Osborne & Little fabric covers the colorful bolster. A sea urchin sculpture is a fanciful note. Chinoiserie elements include a beautiful pagoda mirror with bells and a black and white dragon lamp whose lampshade echoes the green of the bench.
