My Gold Bamboo Flatware Finds

via Weston Table

When I was working on the post the other day on bamboo flatware, I looked to see what was available on eBay. I happened upon a brand new vintage set of discontinued Reed & Barton Gold Regal Bamboo flatware still in its plastic sleeves and box - eight place settings and six serving pieces. There was a serious bidding war, but I was able to snag it in the last few seconds.  This flatware is highly collectible and I have never seen a brand new complete set. Sellers generally sell it by the piece. Lucky find. Here it is below.

Setting the Summer Table

Beatriz Satrustegui

This table setting could not be more beautiful and includes so many of my favorites things - an ikat tablecloth, the coral plates, wicker coasters, sea urchins, a color palette of coral and cream and gold. This is perfect for those of us in tropical climates, but would work anywhere as a summer table setting.

I love sea urchins - this is my pretty little Aerin Lauder one. Sea urchin or uni is also my favorite food in the world.

The Chinoiserie Entry

Jill Goldberg - New England Home
If you love color and Chinoiserie, this entry is one for you. The walls are covered in a blue Phillip Jeffries grasscloth. The stair runner is leopard. A Bernhardt leather bench is upholstered in spring leaf green. An Osborne & Little fabric covers the colorful bolster. A sea urchin sculpture is a fanciful note. Chinoiserie elements include a beautiful pagoda mirror with bells and a black and white dragon lamp whose lampshade echoes the green of the bench.
