In Search of

Greenwich Polo Club

Anyone have any ideas on where this pink and green gingham sundress is from? I love it as well as the raffia striped bag and straw sunhat. I think the bag is Marni. And yes I have already Google reverse image searched the dress with no luck.

Statement Necklaces for a Steal

Frances Valentine

Statement necklaces are a great way to instantly jazz up any outfit. I throw on a dress, a pair of sunglasses, and a dramatic necklace, and I am dressed for anywhere. I have found some great necklaces in loads of colors and they are all under $10! These are wooden, lightweight, come in different styles and colors, and are very chic. Perfect for spring and summer and for vacation.

Color of the Year - Peach Fuzz

Peach Fuzz

Pantone has chosen Peach Fuzz as its color of the year. Their description of this color strikes me as quite amusing word salad -

"PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.

In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless."

Color Palettes for Your Home

Roseate Spoonbill

To me, the best way to choose a color palette for your home is to look to the colors of nature right outside your door. Think of beach houses of blue and white and mountain cabins filled with warm wood tones.

Happy Prints for Summer

Printfresh

I love color and I love pattern and never more than here in South Florida where neutrals seem so out of place. One of my go-to brands for loungewear and sleepwear is Printfresh. Made from organic cotton, ethically created, and with inclusive sizes from XS to 6X, their prints are so unique and whimsical.

This wonderful collaboration between Tuckernuck and fashion icon Blair Eadie of Atlantic - Pacific is really stunning. Feminine, vibrant - with great colors like tangerine, peony pink, kelly green, and navy, and bold patterns, stripes, and trims, with pieces that can be dressed up or down. This collection has a modern yet vintage vibe with timeless pieces that will never go out of style.

The twenty two piece collection has dresses galore, separates, and matching earrings.

Eyelet

Collection Eyelet Midi Dress

Few fabrics conjure up warm weather dressing like white eyelet. It is the quintessential summer fabric. Examples of eyelet date to the 16th century in Eastern Europe. Broderie anglaise is tied with England because of its popularity there during the 19th century for women's underclothing and children's garments. Eyelet was originally cut and embroidered by hand and was originally seen only in white.

I am a huge fan of eyelet for spring and summer dressing. I personally love it in fun pastels and great colors and have found some wonderful choices. Many of these would make great special occasion outfits for garden parties, weddings, vacations, Kentucky Derby parties, and such.

Summer Style

Frances Valentine

I have always loved summer clothes best of all, and here in South Florida it is summer 365 days a year. So when my favorite online stores are having their summer sales, I am in heaven. One of my absolute favorite labels is Frances Valentine, and not only are they having a summer sale, but all sale items are an extra 25% off this week with code EXTRA25. Many of you know that Frances Valentine was the last venture of Kate Spade before her death, and for me FV captures Kate's style better that the Kate Spade label today.

A Great Keychain

Oversized Leather Tassel Keychain

I almost always carry an oversized handbag - in Florida that translates to one of my collection of large straw bags with all of my "stuff." I have found that having an oversized colorful keychain is so helpful to find my keys quickly and easily. This is my new favorite keychain.

Spring Has Sprung

Jumpsuit with Skirt Rococo Vine

Since I of course wear spring/summer clothes all year round in South Florida, I get excited when spring clothing lines comes out as I obviously am not buying from their winter lines. Perhaps my favorite brand is Frances Valentine, the last venture of Kate Spade before her death. Interestingly, I always loved Kate Spade handbags and shoes and accessories, but never felt that her clothing line ever captured her style. If you don't own her little book Style, you really should get it. I have probably read it a dozen times.

Manolo Blahniks Gathering Dust

New Metallic Rothy's

In NOVA, I wore stilettos almost every day and have quite a collection of gorgeous Manolo Blahniks and other designer footwear. Here in Florida is a different story. I tried on a pair the other day toying with the idea of wearing them, but took two steps and thought better of it. I slipped back into a pair of Rothy's and I swear my feet sighed in relief. Looking back, I marvel that I did not break something walking in high heels on ancient bricks and cobblestones in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia thousands of times. (Widow Makers)
