Manolo Blahniks Gathering Dust

New Metallic Rothy's

In NOVA, I wore stilettos almost every day and have quite a collection of gorgeous Manolo Blahniks and other designer footwear. Here in Florida is a different story. I tried on a pair the other day toying with the idea of wearing them, but took two steps and thought better of it. I slipped back into a pair of Rothy's and I swear my feet sighed in relief. Looking back, I marvel that I did not break something walking in high heels on ancient bricks and cobblestones in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia thousands of times. (Widow Makers)

If you have somehow missed my posting on Rothy's, they are incredibly chic and comfortable flats that are made of recycled plastic bottles and are machine washable. They are available in lots of styles and colors and also in mens and kids as well as handbags and travel bags. You can get $20 off your first order using my link here.

There are some darling new spring colors including new metallics. When I want a dressier look, the metallic Rothy's are perfect. The Point style with its elongated toe and lower vamp gives a longer line to your leg and is very flattering.

These just launched yesterday and I ordered them. They are neutral but dressy and will go with everything. Gold is such a great neutral and this style is so classic. I think these will become favorites.

The Point in Diamond Metallic

The other brand new metallic is The Flat in Light Gold Metallic. This is a great style for those who don't like pointy toes.

These are my favorite colors for spring - such great saturated pastels.

  2. My first pair of Rothy's was a silver metallic point. I still wear those shoes, and they still look fabulous. I've since added three shades of pink, an animal print, and a turquoise and white design__all points. I've also bought my daughter-in-law and son each a pair of Rothy's. My daughter-in-law says they are the most comfortable shoes she's ever worn!

    1. That's funny - I have two metallic, three pink, one blue, and one animal print. My daughter loves them too. They are so comfortable, they are addictive.

  3. I love shoes and have a rather extensive collection of heels too, but I've found as I've gotten older, that unfortunately, I can no longer wear them without suffering much discomfort. It's just too hard on my joints and my lower back. I've had to resort to lower heels, flats, or if I need to make tracks, something that offers more stability and support, such as athletic shoes. I still find myself perusing beautiful high heels though. The Rothy's loafers in Tide Pool are very pretty.

Is that an egret visiting you?

  4. The photo you snapped of your morning visitor looks like a page from a beautiful coffee table book.

    1. You are so sweet. He was walking quite fast and I just grabbed my iPhone and shot it through the screen. This morning I had a whole family of mallards in the back yard playing in the sprinklers.
