Color of the Year - Peach Fuzz

Peach Fuzz

Pantone has chosen Peach Fuzz as its color of the year. Their description of this color strikes me as quite amusing word salad -

"PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.

In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless."

Fun & Games

Magenta and Orange Acrylic Backgammon Set

Pantone's Color of the Year for 2023 is Magenta, so you will be seeing a lot of this color. This magenta and orange backgammon set is so fun and would look great in my home. It can even be monogrammed. I have played backgammon since I was in law school. This would look wonderful displayed on a coffee table.

Sunday Inspiration - Navy & Emerald

Sarah Back

This bedroom pairs the Pantone Color of 2013 Emerald and my Chinoiserie Chic Color of the Year Navy in this pretty Chinoiserie bedroom. Navy and white anchor the space, with emerald green being used as an accent. Here is what the designer has to say about her use of navy -

Sarah Back (backinteriors.com) loves to use navy to anchor a light-colored space or to create a homey haven. It transitions easily from summer to fall with a quick change of accent colors—pair with coral and kelly green during warm months, red or olive the rest of the year. Or simply stick with blue and white as Back does here, and add gold for a touch of glam.

“Navy shows up in every project I do. It’s making a resurgence, and it’s so versatile. It looks as great on a wingback chair as it does on a Barcelona. It’s practically a neutral, and gives a space a warm and cheerful feeling.” —Sarah Back

A Chinoiserie Christmas - The Emerald Green Door

As Pantone has decreed emerald green to be the color of 2013, what about an emerald green door? A lovely choice for the holidays and all year round. Add a Greek key doormat and a pair of blue and white Chinese planters for Chinoiserie Chic style. Blue and white looks sensational with this green.

The Emerald Green Room

A Chinoiserie Christmas - Pantone's Color of the Year - Emerald

Pantone has announced that its color of the year for 2013 is Emerald Green. Their 2012 color you will recall was Tangerine Tango. I am delighted with this choice - emerald is a stunning color combined with Chinoiserie. We will have many upcoming posts on incorporating this color in your home in 2013, but here is a little gallery preview, just in time for Christmas.
