I was up at 2:45 am and all ready to pounce when the sale started at 3:01 am. They were one minute late starting! I got everything I wanted and will be at my Target store at 8 am when it opens for the in store only piece I want. This is my my favorite piece I just bought, but I will post tomorrow on more. I was thinking yesterday about upcoming posts for Valentine's Day. I came across this chinoiserie dining room in coral pink and red that I posted on several years ago. The room was featured in the December/January 2014 issue of House Beautiful. Such pretty Valentine's Day inspiration.

 This is a favorite room of mine, my office. It is the girliest office imaginable, which is perfect for me. A blush pink velvet sofa, a red leather Mary McDonald campaign chair, a gold leaf zebra rug, and two built in bookcases with desks anchor the space. I have converted one of the desks into a mini bar.

 Here is a stunning Christmas table setting that would work perfectly in my home as it incorporates SO many of my favorites - stripes, pink and red, blue and white, faux bamboo, Greek key and gold. Jaye's Studio is a lovely online store, and they are having a holiday tabletop sale right now with the code SETTING. I would use one of my sets of faux bamboo flatware with this. Lots of great ideas to borrow here.

Girl Power

Update to yesterday's post on the delivery of my two sofas or couches or davenports. They were supposed to deliver them between 2 pm and 6 pm and the driver was to call me 30 minutes in advance and ring the bell upon arrival. My dogs heard a noise about 2:30 pm and I went to investigate - it was the delivery truck pulling away up the street having left the two sofas outside on the driveway with no phone call and no knock or ring.

So I was outside in shock looking at the two massive boxes - both on their ends - one is over eight feet tall - both blocking my car in the garage and both crazy heavy. I went inside to get shoes and when I came out my next door neighbor and neighbor across the street were both in my driveway ready to help. We three girls moved the boxes into the garage and they are safe until my handyman comes today.

Girl Power! What a great story. Then I went inside and called Article and bitched to high heaven.

BUT, I am especially excited about  the pink velvet sofa - I absolutely love this room. The pink and red and the animals and the whimsy make me so happy.

The Williams Sonoma Home Mercer Table. Thank you for all your comments. So many great points were made - especially that it won't clash with my gorgeous stone floors, it is a classic, its clean lines; I am sold. For those who thought it too modern, the original it is based on is from the 1930s.

Yesterday I returned to HomeGoods and found another even more fabulous Mary McDonald piece - a red leather Chaddock House Grant Campaign Chair. I can't find the retail price online but I bet it was/is a fortune. If anyone can find the retail price for me, I would appreciate it. I got it for $230. It is stunning.

I love the combination of red and pink. The inspiration board I did a while back above combines these colors. FYI, I am not doing this for my study - I wish! Below is a shot from my former library/office in Alexandria.

 I enjoyed Kate's post so much yesterday I decided to take one of my favorite Blair Edie outfits in one of my favorite color combinations pink and red and interpret it in a dining room. The walls are painted blush pink. A black Saarinen tulip table (for the element of black) is paired with red metal updated Louis chairs from Wisteria. The art is "Feathers" by Paule Marrot and a large abstract piece by Elliott Puckette. The curtains are done in a mod Palm Beach Lilly Pulitzer floral. A large antique red Chinoiserie secretary is a focal point as is the stunning chandelier by Marjorie Skouras Designs. A pair of pink Kate Spade vases (discontinued) add another pop of pink.
