The Red & Pink Chinoiserie Dining Room

House Beautiful

I was thinking yesterday about upcoming posts for Valentine's Day. I came across this chinoiserie dining room in pink and red that I posted on several years ago. The room was featured in the December/January 2014 issue of House Beautiful. Such pretty Valentine's Day inspiration.

Lots of chinoiserie too - note the gold pagodas on the sideboard, gold pagoda salt and pepper shakers, Gracie Studio wallpaper, and gold bamboo flatware. The centerpiece of red roses is beautiful. Roses were on BOGO last week at Publix so I got 2 dozen gorgeous long stemmed roses for $11.99. You can't beat that. And I burned one of the tuberose candles yesterday that I posted on just yesterday. I think roses and tuberose got me in a Valentine's Day mood. I like the candle so much I ordered more before they sell out.

I have several gold pagodas that look like the ones on the sideboard at Charlotte Moss' wonderful retail store in Manhattan that she unfortunately closed many years back.

Enjoy your weekend. It's only going to be in the sixties here this weekend so everyone will be bundled up.

Florida Today

I am hosting a wine tasting tomorrow evening and going to a football party to watch the Bucs win on Sunday. Football weather here in Florida!  (But back to 80s by mid-week).

  1. The cartoon today made me laugh out loud. A couple of years ago as a transplant from Denver to Santa Monica I would be wearing a sleeveless top and meet natives wearing a jacket, ear muffs and mittens. no joke. Then the bundled up person would ask me if I wasn't cold. Meanwhile now back in Denver the temperature two days ago was below 0.
