I grew up in Germany, and my mother (or more accurately, our German housekeeper), would open the windows every morning, called lüften. Lüften is a traditional German practice of briefly but fully opening windows and doors once or twice daily to exchange stale indoor air with fresh air. Also known as "house burping" or shock ventilation, this 5–10 minute routine prevents mold growth, boosts air quality, and improves sleep and mood, regardless of outside temperatures.

When I was growing up, outside my bedroom window there was an area in the garden where thousands of lilies of the valley had naturalized, and in the Spring, the glorious smell would fill my room. I still adore the scent and searched for a lily of the valley candle for Spring for CCC.

This pretty pink guest bedroom features a favorite wallpaper of mine - Brunschwig & Fils Les Touches, combined with strie headboards and a pair of white Juju hats. I think Juju hats are a great choice above a headboard - I have one above the headboard in my guest bedroom. BTW, Les Touches is a design that plays beautifully with chinoiserie.

The iconic and beloved Les Couers by Porthault heart linens were designed in the 1950s at the request of the Duchess of Windsor by Madeleine Porthault to express the couple's love and commitment to each other.
