Setting the Table

Danielle Rollins

Harvest colors for Thanksgiving and red and green for Christmas just don't work at CCC. But pink and blue - bring it on! I love this table setting by Danielle Rollins and best of all, I don't need a thing - woven placemats (I purchased coral, blue and green ones from Amanda Lindroth), seashells, bamboo flatware, and flowers and tropicals from my garden mixed with roses I'll get at Publix or Trader Joe's.

For china, I would use my Lenox Morning Blossom. Such a pretty pattern - I have service for eight that I collected as a newlywed and I still love it - and it's chinoiserie!

Saturday Inspiration - Pink & Blue

Caitlin Wilson

A lovely combination of blue grasscloth on the walls, a brass console table, a soft pink ginger jar, and double gourd vase. The rug echoes the pink and blue.

I love a color palette of pink, blue, and white with Chinoiserie. Isn't this a happy space? The blue grasscloth and white Chinese Chippendale chairs are perfect.

Sunday Inspiration - Setting the Chinoiserie Table

Alessandra Branca/House Beautiful
In this fun and chic table setting, Alessandra Branca mixes a blue and white striped tablecloth (fabric from her collection for Schumacher), with Chinoiserie china she has designed for Pickard. Her Fiamma and Pagoda china patterns combine Chinoiserie motifs with vibrant and colorful borders.

I love combining stripes and Chinoiserie and I love the color palette of blue, white, and pink. Small containers of flowers in lieu of one arrangement add to the casual vibe.

Pineapples, The Pink Pagoda, and an Inspiration Board

Last week I posted about a new trend I love - pineapples - they are popping up everywhere in hot colors and modern designs. Jennifer at the Pink Pagoda has created some gorgeous pineapple prints in great colors - I can't wait to find a spot in my home for these.

I have created an inspiration board with lots of color (hot pink, turquoise, yellow, navy blue and lime green) incorporating one of her pineapple giclees - very Palm Beach Chic. And all of The Pink Pagoda's prints are on sale this week - 20% off with code SITELAUNCHSALE20OFF through Friday, May 24th. Minimum purchase of $35.00 and does not apply to custom orders or requests.

I love these color combinations. Check out my Pinterest board on Pineapples, on Pink and Blue Chinoiserie, and on Pink and Red and follow me on Pinterest here.

Pale Coral and Blue in an Unexpected Setting

A beautiful soft color palette of pale coral and blue in this stunning restored Chicago co-op with its incredible ceiling, windows, and height. A lovely juxtaposition of traditional decor including lots of blue and white Chinese porcelain in a very dramatic space. I am generally not a fan of white walls, but I love them in rooms with high ceilings.

Pink and Navy Chinoiserie

Love the combination of pink and navy blue Chinoiserie as much as I do? Group a few of these on a couch or bed to transform the room in minutes. All of these and many more are available from The Pink Pagoda's accessories store.

Sunday Inspiration - Pink and Navy

The Pink Pagoda posted on this bedroom that belongs to Amanda Nisbet's daughter. I love the pink and navy - my new addiction. Check out the Greek key carpet, banded roman shade, ikat pillows, and fretwork headboard.

I was also able to find an earlier version of this bedroom at bottom. A big difference - glad to see the window air conditioner, dinky side table, and ugly lamp all gone and the art used in a more imaginative fashion. Not even interior designers have perfect homes. Also interesting to see the differences in the staging in the photo above and the one just below.

Navy and Pink Chinoiserie

Mary McDonald
I am big right now on combining deeper blues like navy and Chinoiserie. I like it even more with pink.
