Lilly Pulitzer for the Home

Lilly Pulitzer

Happy Labor Day and first day of September. September here in South Florida means that temperatures have finally dipped down into the eighties. A gorgeous day here today.

Chinoiserie at Lilly Pulitzer

Lilly Pulitzer Large Ginger Jar

Just in time for decorating for the holidays and for holiday gift giving, some seriously fabulous chinoiserie pieces at Lilly Pulitzer. These have a preppy Palm Beach vibe that Lilly is known for.

Jewelry - Bamboo, Palms, Seashells & More

Bamboo Chain Necklace

I just found a jewelry collection that literally checks all the boxes for me. It is Palm Beach based and designed  - all the collections are inspired by nature. The collections include Bamboo, Palms, Ocean, Orchid, Forest, and more.

She Sells Seashells Down by the Seashore

CCC

Decorating with seashells is quite the thing in Florida, especially in places like Palm Beach. People spend thousands of dollars on shell encrusted mirrors, fireplace mantels, sconces, chandeliers, and the like. I too love seashells at CCC.

Happy Spring & Palm Royale

Palm Royale

Yesterday was the first day of spring and tonight is the premiere of the new series Palm Royale set in Palm Beach in 1969. It streams on Apple TV. Meanwhile the weather here in South Florida is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 - sunny and 70s and absolutely perfect.

Palm Beach Style & Palm Royale

Palm Royale

Florida is hot, literally and figuratively, the second most popular state to move to after Texas. As I posted on last week, the new HGTV Rock the Block is set right up the road in Treasure Island, Florida. And the brand new series Palm Royale, set in the sixties in Palm Beach premieres this Wednesday on Apple TV.

Setting the Tropical Table

Mercedes Salazar Monkey Candle Holders

I am always on the lookout for fabulous pieces for setting my table with tropical, island, Palm Beach style. These incredible raffia monkey candle holders certainly fit the bill. These are woven in Iraca Palm by Caribbean coast Colombian craftsmen.

More Kips Bay

Tristan Harstan - Veranda

Kips Bay Palm Beach opens today and this is the wonderful blue and white dining room by Tristan Harstan.

"Rooted in Harstan’s love of classicism and history, the space reflects its coastal context through the scenic de Gournay wallcovering, palm leaf Paul Ferrante chandelier, and palette of refreshing blues. An ivory Colefax and Fowler silk fashioned into draperies by The Shade Store adds an extra dose of warmth and serenity while a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings from Ainsworth-Noah bring depth and texture."

Kips Bay Palm Beach

Phoebe Howard - Kips Bay Palm Beach 2024

Kips Bay Palm Beach opens this week. When I lived in D.C., I loved going to the showhouses in D.C., Baltimore, and Alexandria. Unfortunately, most are shuttered and a thing of the past.

Vignette

Danielle Rollins

A lovely vignette in the Palm Beach home of Danielle Rollins. It includes so many of my favorite things. A blue and white Chinese vase is filled with palm fronds from the garden.

Chinoiserie Florida Style

Quentin MacDonald - Sarasota Magazine

This wonderful home is in Siesta Key just minutes from CCC. It is filled with color, pattern, and chinoiserie, and no beige or gray to be found! I love the blue and white dining room above.

Palm Tree Chinese Garden Stools

Danielle Rollins

This is the front entrance of the Palm Beach home of Danielle Rollins and Tom D'Agostino. I am crazy about the blue and white Chinese garden stools with palm trees. I would love to find a pair of these for CCC.

Palm Beach Style & Yellow

Cathy Kincaid Interiors

This Palm Beach inspired dining room is from a Kips Bay Dallas Show House. I think it is a wonderful example of how well yellow works with blue and white Chinese porcelain. The millwork is beautiful as are the gorgeous plaster palm trees. The palm trees were created by one of Dallas' oldest plasterwork companies. The walls are stenciled.

Palm Beach Style

John Buckley - Veranda

I  love this chic spot in this Jupiter, Florida home. The photograph is Slim Aarons' "California Garden Party". The pillows are Fortuny and Sue Fisher King. The center pillow is "Venetian Alligator." Such a fun Florida touch.

Palm Beach Style

One Kings Lane

I love this vignette from OKL exemplifying Florida style - a Chinese porcelain double gourd vase with palm fronds cut from the garden, a shell encrusted bust, and seashells....

Old School Chinoiserie

Lisa Henderson Interiors - Coastal Living

I think you will find this home quite interesting. This newly decorated Palm Beach townhome is featured in the Spring 2023 Coastal Living, but it looks like it could have been done anytime in the last forty years. This is an excellent example of timeless, old school chinoiserie with wonderful chinoiserie fabrics, color, wicker, blue and white Chinese porcelain, Chinese garden stools, grasscloth, all with a Florida vibe.

This sophisticated but fun daughter's bedroom in pink and green features two Quadrille patterns - Tulip Multicolor and Lyford Background.

This wicker bag is just darling. It has a beachy island Palm Beach vibe. The wicker is handcrafted with painted wooden bead handles and a linen drawstring pouch that can be monogrammed. It is available in Coastal Blue, Light Pink, or Natural.

My New Beach House

CCC II

So, I just bought a new beach house! Some of you may recall the dollhouse challenge I participated in several years ago. I had so much fun doing it, I decided to do a beach dollhouse.

Above is the rattan dollhouse I have ordered. I am envisioning a Florida/Serena & Lily look with lots of blue and white, rattan, wicker, palm trees, and of course chinoiserie.

The Pink and Brown Chinoiserie Room

Mary McGee - Architectural Digest

This wonderful trellis room is in a Palm Beach home once owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post. The manse was built in the 1920s. This was the cereal heiress' first Palm Beach home designed by Marion Sims Wyeth who also designed Post's second now infamous Palm Beach home Mar - A - Lago. The color palette of white with pops of chocolate brown and soft coral pink is so lovely.

Pink & Green Palm Beach Style

Kim Seybert

Blue and white is of course a classic in a beach house, but the addition of pink and green is very Palm Beach. This wonderful table setting has lots of inspiration for setting a fabulous Spring/Summer table.
