It sometimes seems that those of us with blogs post the same rooms of the same interior designers. That is why it is such a revelation to come across an interior designer with serious talent whose work I have never seen before. This stuff is dynamite-Chinoiserie that is fresh and colorful, modern but classic. Click here to see her entire portfolio.

House Beautiful Blue
Above is a gorgeous email I received for a book signing of House Beautiful's new book Blue. Has anyone checked out the book? I wonder if it really adds much to their March 2010 Blue Issue, which didn't really blow me away-what is more classic than a room with blue and white Chinese porcelain, yet the issue was oddly devoid of Chinoiserie. The book cover below is certainly far less attractive than the book signing invitation from Pagoda Red.

Chinoiserie Outdoors
With Memorial Day almost here, I thought it might be fun to look at ways to use Chinoiserie outdoors. The next few days we'll take a peek at Chinoiserie outdoor furniture, fabrics, and accessories. How fun. I know you'll love this Galante Collection at Ballard Designs. Faux bamboo is done in superior grade aluminum with an antique chestnut finish for elegant and carefree al fresco dining, entertaining, and relaxing. Their outdoor furniture collection is 10% off now as well.
