Serena & Lily Vibes

Serena & Lily

I am such a fan of Serena & Lily and love their Breakers Rattan Floor Lamp featured above. "Light decorating takes on great new meaning with this tropical statement piece. Our architectural interpretation of a palm tree took our designers months to create and develop, and every last detail is thoughtfully considered. Hand-woven and hand-wrapped rattan brings amazing artistry and intricacy, from the two tiers of leaves down to the elegantly fluted base. Brass accents elevate the look with a bit of shine, while a trio of coconut-shaped shades brings a playful element we love."

A Florida Christmas

One Kings Lane

How's this for very chic styling of this fireplace with Florida flair? I love the pair of alligators. Many people assume that alligators are found all over the world.

The Palm Beach Front Door

Coral Door with Palm Tree Door Knocker

I found this picture and thought it would be fun to figure out how to recreate it. Alas, my home has double white French front doors that I love, so this would not work at CCC, but maybe one of you will be inspired.

The Tiny Beach House

CCC

I thought I would share a little progress report on CCC II. I have been furnishing my rattan mini beach house with all my favorite things - chinoiserie, palm trees, blue and white, stripes, seashells, wicker, Chinese garden stools, banana leaf, and needlepoint. I would like to live here!

It is still a work in progress - next project is artwork. Here are some peeks at the rooms.

Decorating with Palm Fronds

Bunny Williams

If you are fortunate to have palm trees in your garden as I do, you will save a fortune not buying fresh flowers at the grocery store. They also look wonderful and last forever - cut fronds last weeks to months!

Coastal Blue and White

Serena & Lily - Palm Beach

I love the coastal chic look and nobody does it better in my opinion than Serena & Lily. This picture is from their Palm Beach store.

A Chinoiserie Christmas @ CCC

CCC

A sneak peek at my blue and white ginger jar Chinoiserie palm tree. I will try to muster the energy today to take more photos around my home of my Christmas decor.

Blue and White Chinoiserie & Stripes

Ralph Lauren

Ralph can do no wrong in my book and this is a master class. I so often mention how beautifully stripes work with chinoiserie and this is a perfect example. And no dinky blue and white Chinese porcelain - nice big pieces that make a statement. I love his frequent use of palm trees - even it's in a NYC apartment as opposed to a tropical venue. And lots of books - they give a room a soul. Gold/brass touches always look great with a blue and white palette. His use of brown furniture always looks classic and not dated. Is that a backgammon board on the coffee table? I use to love playing backgammon.

Blue and White

Filipa de Abreu

Such a lovely blue and white room with lots of favorites and a tropical flair. I love the X benches, the palm!!!!, the oversized ginger jar, the pup, the sconces, books, and the Celerie Kemble wicker floor lamp. That floor lamp is wonderful, but at a thousand dollars, I'll wait for the HG version - LOL.

BTW, fish scale patterned ginger jars are timeless, but especially good if you are going for that beachy vibe. The only exception I would take is the skirted table. I absolutely adore a great skirted table, but the glass top, the length, and that trim and trim placement all make me nuts.

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren - Architectural Digest

I have posted many times before about seagrass matting and about banana leaf wallpaper - both faves of mine. Well this is a great new discovery - the flooring above is banana leaf matting. The room is stunning with its palms, rattan, straw hats, white slipcovers, canopy bed, mosquito netting, and even a blue and white garden stool. Such understated elegance. Speaking of mosquitoes, I have never seen a mosquito here. Very odd.

Palm Beach Style

Emily Painter Interiors

My favorite purchase for my new house was definitely my canvas palm tree from The Canvas Nursery here in Florida. Palm Beach interior designer Emily Painter, formerly senior designer for Amanda Lindroth, uses a pair in her blue and white Worth Avenue apartment.

Note the elephants, blue and white ginger jars, Amanda Lindroth island tray, rattan bar cart, and seashells - all faves of mine. A seagrass squares rug is a super economical way to dress up a floor, especially in a rental like this. You can buy the squares and stitch them together to form any size you require.

High/Low

Michael Aram

This pair of Michael Aram palms is $1,075.

This is mine from HomeGoods for $49.99.

Tough decision - LOL. There were more, but I just wanted one, not a pair.

Lobsters and Palm Trees

Mignonne Gavigan Lobster Pinch Earrings

Have you ever had someone in your life who was your bad luck charm? That was Sandbagger - anything that could go wrong when I was with him, went wrong in spades. Now my life has returned to good karma and I am so grateful.

I passed on these earrings at Anthropologie a couple of years ago and they have haunted me. A brand new pair popped up on Poshmark on Sunday and I grabbed them. I love statement earrings and these are certainly that! Perfect for my tropical lifestyle.

Then yesterday I popped into HomeGoods and they were mad restocked after clearing out the Christmas decor and I could have bought out the store. I bought this gold palm tree - not sure where it will go yet, but I love it. BTW, the empty fish bowl below is awaiting a live palm tree.

I have never bought a lottery ticket in my life, but feel like I may start. (Probably from binge watching HGTV's Lottery Dream Home). LOL

Happy New Year's Eve

CCC

My goal was to finish all the projects in my home and garden in 2020 and miraculously, the last two things on my list worked out. My wallpaper hanger showed up last week and my canvas palm tree that had been hung up at the port in Tampa was sprung and I picked it up Tuesday and assembled it yesterday. It's ten feet tall - very dramatic!

So no more projects - I am so looking forward to just chilling for a while.  I have a lovely bottle of my favorite French Champagne for tonight to wave this dumpster fire of a year goodbye. Hopefully better days are ahead for all of us. Stay safe. A Happier New Year to all.
