Ralph Lauren |
Ralph can do no wrong in my book and this is a master class. I so often mention how beautifully stripes work with chinoiserie and this is a perfect example. And no dinky blue and white Chinese porcelain - nice big pieces that make a statement. I love his frequent use of palm trees - even it's in a NYC apartment as opposed to a tropical venue. And lots of books - they give a room a soul. Gold/brass touches always look great with a blue and white palette. His use of brown furniture always looks classic and not dated. Is that a backgammon board on the coffee table? I use to love playing backgammon.
Another home run! Love this room!
ReplyDeletePerfection.
DeleteRalph can do no wrong in my book. Classic.
ReplyDeleteNot a huge fan of his women's clothing but love all else.
DeleteAnd let’s not forget that unexpected vase for the lilies!
ReplyDeleteDoes it look like wood?
DeleteI thought so at first but am wondering if it is some sort of tightly woven wicker/rattan type material. I’m sure they were probably just trying to move that dark brown color of the furniture etc. around the room but it is an interesting and unexpected piece.

ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteJust beautiful. Rich, but restrained. Sometimes people don't know when to stop but Ralph always gets it right.
ReplyDeleteYes, always perfectly edited.
DeleteI've seen this room before, and yes, it is beautiful. I especially love that sofa with the wide navy and white stripes. I've coveted it the first moment I laid eyes on it. I think it's just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI agree - I would love it in Sunbrella.
DeleteRalph's decor is always perfect! This is a beautiful room. I love backgammon, too, but have not played for many years. Thank you for sharing this image.
ReplyDeleteI played tons of backgammon in law school - I might have to take it up again!
DeleteThis looks so timeless.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. It will never look dated.
