Decorating with Palm Fronds

Bunny Williams

If you are fortunate to have palm trees in your garden as I do, you will save a fortune not buying fresh flowers at the grocery store. They also look wonderful and last forever - cut fronds last weeks to months!

Here is more inspiration.

Any palm fronds will work - obviously lower growing ones like saw palmettos and such will be easier to cut. No special care required besides a clean vase with fresh water.

This ginger jar is a great choice for a container and it is at a great price right now almost half off. It is the perfect beach house ginger jar with its koi motif. I like the look of glass vases, but personally I find that the water needs to be changed so often to keep it looking nice.

And I highly recommend this wonderful book on palms that makes a perfect coffee table book - it is on mine. This famous book is unrivaled in the botanic illustration and taxonomy of palms.

  1. I've done this for years. My favorite look for something fresh in the home!

  2. That's a beautiful hallway space that transitions into the adjacent living space done by Heather Chadduck. I don't have any palms in my yard, Beth, but I do have some plants with very large dramatic leaves, and they have great presence.
