Many years ago I bought this pagoda curio shelf. I used it for petite decorative objets. A few years ago I converted it into a dollhouse garden folly filled with chinoiserie. It has needlepoint rugs, Chinese porcelain, blue and white Chinese garden stools, antique textiles, all kinds of beautiful things.

My girls are, as you might guess, very Chinoiserie Chic. I have two Japanese Chin. Despite its name, the Japanese Chin's roots trace back to China as early as the 5th century. Honored as religious symbols and pampered companions by Chinese and Korean royalty, these ancient lapdogs were eventually gifted to Japanese nobility, officially debuting in the West in 1853 via Commodore Matthew Perry.

So I have started fall decorating, I am waiting "patiently" to start my Halloween decorating, and I have starting looking at ideas for Christmas decorating. But I love it all. Holiday multi - tasking. Here are some Christmas pagodas out now that are too good to wait and risk them selling out. They are from Dillard's Southern Living Collection that is a favorite of mine.

I love this wicker pagoda by Amanda Lindroth. Alas, I passed on getting it when it was on a fabulous Tag Sale on her now closed website because I really don't have a spot for it. I love how it is styled here with Estelle Colored Glass, seashells, wicker wrapped candles, a pineapple and limes.

I have this blue and white pagoda and love it. It is such a classic for the lover of chinoiserie. It looks wonderful here on a mantel combined with Christmas greenery and a poinsettia.

This Bahamian kitchen featured in the new Veranda is quite fabulous. The wallpaper is de Gournay's Amazonia in turquoise. Note the pink La Cornue range. The wallpaper above the range is protected by a plexiglass panel. I love the wicker stools and lighting fixture (Soane Britain). This is a white kitchen that certainly doesn't feel sterile!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Mine has included getting to know my new car, its first car wash, gardening, the beach of course, making chili as planned, and deliveries of a few Labor Day sale pieces I had ordered. My car wash even gives me Milk Bones for the pups every time I go.
