A Chinoiserie Halloween

Harvest Collection Chinoiserie Tufted Pumpkin

From the Dillard's Southern Living Collection, some wonderful pieces that will take you from Halloween through Thanksgiving with chinoiserie flair.

Wicker Pumpkins

Small Dark Woven Fall Pumpkin

Every year at this time, Target puts out darling wicker pumpkins. They are perfect for fall and Halloween decorating - for the tabletop, sideboard, mantel, counters, bookshelves and more. They could be used outdoors in a covered entryway. They are available in an array of colors and sizes and start at $5. Mix and match these with blue and white Chinese porcelain for a chinoiserie autumn display.

The Blue and White Thanksgiving Table

Joanna Buchanan

Luxury tabletop designer Joanna Buchanan has suggested bucking traditional harvest colors and setting the Thanksgiving table with blue and white. I would be up for that! She uses her blue ombre capiz shell pumpkin.

Blue and White for Fall

Everyday Elegance Collection

Setting the table for fall need not mean harvest colors. I much prefer blue and white any time of year. Here blue and white French aptware china, bamboo flatware, a blue Canton vase, and mini pumpkin tureens set the stage.

Pumpkin Candles

Glass Figural Pumpkin Woods Candle

Candles in darling pumpkin containers are everywhere this time of year. They are a great choice for fall and Halloween decorating because they scent your home and decorate it at the same time. I have found some I really like - they come in three sizes in lots of colors and scents. And unlike many I have seen in the $30 to $40 price range, these start at just $5.00.

Black Pumpkin Dutch Oven High/Low

Staub Black Pumpkin Cocotte

September is here and my thoughts are turning to all things pumpkin (except pumpkin spice). This 3.5 quart Staub pumpkin cocotte (dutch oven) is such a gorgeous addition to your kitchen - many people leave it on their range all year long.

Dog Friendly Halloween Costumes

Dog Halloween Ideas

Many of us love dressing our dogs up for Halloween, but most pet costumes are made of materials that are scratchy and styles that are uncomfortable. They end up staying on for 5 minutes. These super cozy and soft sweaters and flannel bandanas are both darling and made for comfort.

Decorating & a Recipe for Fall & Halloween

Staub Orange Pumpkin Cocotte

Now that fall is in the air, wait, this is South Florida, the only thing that's ever in the air is endless summer. Now that September is here, my thoughts turn to decorating for fall and Halloween.
