The iconic Staub Pumpkin Cocotte was originally available in orange, and then black and white were added. I just saw that Le Creuset has now come out with its own version in a range of colors to match your kitchen and your collection of cast iron cookware.

One of the many reasons I love Le Creuset cookware is their color selection. They have had over 200 colors in their history with new colors added each year and others discontinued.

Having just celebrated the winter solstice and with Christmas this weekend, the timing could not be more perfect to make a Christmas simmer pot. I like mine to be as beautiful to look at as it is to smell, so I like to use a sliced lemon, orange, apple, fresh cranberries, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and fresh sprigs of rosemary.

I did this stovetop potpourri in one of my Le Creuset dutch ovens over the weekend and the house smells so wonderful - slice an orange, lemon, grapefruit, apple, and add cinnamon sticks and sprigs of fresh rosemary (and water). Simmer on the lowest setting without a lid and just keep adding water as needed. For a Christmas version, add fresh cranberries. I just purchased a couple rosemary plants for the garden and kitchen - I love the smell.

Now that fall is in the air, wait, this is South Florida, the only thing that's ever in the air is endless summer. Now that September is here, my thoughts turn to decorating for fall and Halloween.

Now that my new Florida home is finished and I have a bit more time, I have decided to return to real cooking. I'm actually a really good cook. I just needed a break.

I would love to upgrade the appliances, but there is a huge shortage as I am sure you are aware. So for now I am styling the kitchen with great accessories, have put in a new honed marble herringbone backsplash, and am upgrading my cookware.
