In working on my post featured over at Calling It Home today, I discovered that Kelly Wearstler is the unrivaled Queen of Driftwood. These are all by Kelly Wearstler. My brushstroke inspiration board

I have long been a fan of the late Cy Twombly and graffiti art, so I am very attracted to the new trend of brushstroke in interior design. I have created an inspiration board using Amanda Nisbet's silk Positano fabric on the walls and combined it with Chinoiserie. Lonny Green Chinoiserie DIY

Lonny has finally returned with its March/April issue. Here is wonderful inspiration from the boutique Hotel Maison 140 in Beverly Hills recently redone by Kelly Wearstler. The bar features glossy deep green walls that have Chinoiserie moldings inset with Chinoiserie panels with cherry blossoms and birds. This would be a lovely idea for a dining room or study in your own home.

Pagoda Bed at LIV Vintage

Finding a pagoda bed is a real rarity. Most you see in interior designers' bedrooms have been custom designed and made at great expense. This wonderful vintage Chinoiserie pagoda bed at LIV Vintage will even be custom painted in the color of your choice or can be inset with fabric. This bed would transform any bedroom into Hollywood Regency glamour at its best!

I just realized that the Etsy headboard in the post below reminds me a bit of this iconic bedroom by Kelly Wearstler. What about doing the headboard in all white by upholstering it in white patent leather? So Hollywood Regency-it would be fabulous!

The Difference Between Chinoiserie and Belgian

The French Canopy Chair

One of the prettiest restaurants anywhere is the BG restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC designed by Kelly Wearstler when she was still designing great spaces. It's one of my favorite spots for lunch. The two best features of the room are the de Gournay wallpaper and the custom French canopy chairs. I was delighted when I received the Jayson Home and Garden spring issue to find their very well priced version of the canopy chair in burlap, hand-rubbed black mahogany, and antique brass nailheads for $1,895 and free shipping. (The ones used by KW start at about $7,000) Wouldn't a pair of these and Chinoiserie wallpaper create the most beautiful dining room? The Jayson version is pictured just below. Chinoiserie Walls-Black

Black walls have become quite the trend in interior design over the past few years. Adding a dose of Chinoiserie to the black gives it a real wow factor. Choices abound-black background wallpaper, black background art, stenciling, a large black Chinese screen in lieu of a black wall, or Chinoiserie furniture or accessories that will really pop against the black walls.
