Sky High Blue and White

Les Ensembliers - Veranda Magazine

I am absolutely in love with this stunning blue and white space overlooking one of my favorite cities Montreal. The duplex is at the top of a former convent with views across the St. Lawrence River to the U.S. border and even views of the mountains of Vermont. Belonging to former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and his wife, blue and white anchors the space with blue and white Chinese porcelain. The Alexander Calder mobile takes center stage. Calder pieces are among the most valuable and most important art of the 20th century.

Timeless Blue and White

Oscar de la Renta's home - 1969

Blue and white Chinese garden stools, Chinese Chippendale chairs, blue and white Chinese porcelain, a chrome faux bamboo console table, blue and white Chinese lamps, blue and white wallpaper and fabrics - the presentation might be a bit old school, but the elements are still as popular today.

A Chinoiserie Christmas - Day 8

Nobody does a better job at combining tartan and Chinoiserie than Ralph Lauren. This bedroom is a wonderful mix of tartan plaids, white linens, a blue and white Chinoiserie lamp, and classic art and furniture.

Scale

Carloyne Roehm
I really believe that a sense of scale is what is most important to an interior designer's aesthetic. Here Carloyne Roehm has put an oversized Chinese vase in front of a fireplace. The scale is perfect - the piece is dramatic but in balance with the rest of the space.

Thanksgiving Series - The Chinoiserie Dining Room

Ned Marshall - House Beautiful
Designer Ned Marsall used Benjamin Moore Bittersweet Chocolate on the walls of this dining room - a beautiful contrast to the gilt Chinoiserie mirror and the blue and white Chinese porcelain.

Office Nook

Nick Olsen - Architectural Digest
A blue and white Chinese lamp by Vaughan pops in this little office nook. The foliage Zoffany wallpaper and pale blue ceiling give it a garden vibe. The traditional chair has been updated with white paint and a red leather seat. I love the lacquered green door.

The Pink Chinoiserie Dining Room

Jessie D. Miller
It is no secret that I adore the color pink. I especially love pink combined with blue and white Chinoiserie, as in this wonderful dining room by interior designer Jessie D. Miller of The Design Daredevil. She was a fellow participant in the recently concluded One Room Challenge.

A Chinoiserie Dining Room

Domino

I happened upon this photo in one of my Pinterest boards because I am looking for a pair of blue and white Chinese lamps for a dining room I am designing for a client. The piece of art is very cool - it is actually on cotton and comes as a kit 42" by 54" for $100.00 available here. A great deal. The lamps are Oscar de la Renta but are no longer available.
