I love everything about this vignette. Slipper chairs are by far my favorite chairs. Elegant, low profile, and so comfortable. My favorite chair at CCC is a vintage signed Baker chair with goose down cushions.

This classic yet contemporary pattern is available in many colorways and works in virtually any room of the house. It's a wallpaper that pairs beautifully with chinoiserie, as you will see. I love a beautiful foyer and this is a lovely example. The color palette is a bit unexpected with a sophisticated palette of aqua, teal and canary. The wallpaper and fabric are from Brunshwig & Fils' new Manoir Collection.

I especially like framing textiles. I have framed antique silk chinoiserie pieces and a silk scarf - people frame baby clothes, athletic jerseys, flags, Hermès scarves, doilies, coasters, all sorts of things. When framing textiles the piece is lightly sewn to the mat before framing.

I posted this wonderful chinoiserie chair before, but the fabrics were not identified. I finally discovered the fabrics used here. On the chair is Pagoda Enchante in Teal by Clarence House. I love Clarence House fabrics and wallpapers. The pillow fabric is exclusive to Coco & Dash.

This lovely blue and white bedroom features Schumacher's Marella trellis wallpaper and fabric in Delft. A rattan bar cart works beautifully as a bedside table styled with a double gourd lamp. This home is in Highland Park, Illinois, just south of where I grew up in Lake Forest.

Chinoiserie Gone Wrong

I have not posted a "Chinoiserie Gone Wrong" in months, but this showed up in my Instagram feed yesterday and I couldn't resist. I'm not even going to begin to outline all I hate about this kitchen; it would take all day. But these are my fave Ballard Designs (now discontinued) Chinese Chippendale stools in this ghastly kitchen. They even left the original ugly fabric cushions on them.

Here are mine in Brunschwig & Fils Xian. The fabric was plasticized and I have been using them daily for years and years and they look like they are brand new.
