Chinoiserie Sources

You will likely recall this wonderful Chinoiserie bathroom from Lonny. If you'd like to borrow these ideas yourself, here's the scoop. The hand towels are a favorite monogram of mine, Maxwell from Leontine Linens. But the wallpaper is a surprise-it's Light Foot, a mural from Waverly! Quite fabulous. See it here.

Chinoiserie Shower Curtains
Beautiful ready made shower curtains are hard to find and Chinoiserie ones are even rarer. These two are wonderful and both are on sale. Above is West Lake from Blissliving Home and below is Audrey from Pottery Barn. Both will add drama to a neutral bathroom or will distract the eye in older bathrooms with dated colors.

The Blue and White Chinoiserie Bath

This wonderful bath by interior designer Paolo Moschino featured in House Beautiful has some great ideas. I like his approach to decorating a bathroom as you would any other room in the house. The walls are done in my favorite paint, Farrow & Ball. The powder blue on the walls is Farrow & Ball Light Blue. The wainscoting is a powdery gray-Farrow & Ball Old White. I have found a very similar bench at Wisteria. The Chinoiserie painting is stunning of course. A similar look could be achieved by framing a blue and white Chinoiserie toile wallpaper. The claw foot tub, chandelier, sconces, and planter add more unexpected elegant touches. For more beautiful Chinoiserie bathrooms, click here.

The Red Chinoiserie Bath
Red is such a perfect choice for a Chinoiserie powder room or bath. Red is hip and young, yet classic and timeless. The first example with its red lacquered walls and black and gold accessories is by New Orleans interior designer Anne Holden in Southern Accents. The commode and chair are stunning.
A beautiful room by New Orleans interior designer Melissa Rufty. I adore the wallpaper-Osborne & Little Summer Palace, the silk shade, and the corner commode.
This masculine bath is Joe Nye's featured in House Beautiful. The Laurent Stripe wallpaper by Cowtan & Tout is perfect for a gentleman's bath.

Chinoiserie Dragon Soap

Here is a wonderful little touch of Chinoiserie for your powder room or bath for only $4.00. These handcrafted soaps are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free and are made with plant materials like lavender buds and rosebud petals. My favorite is this dragon Nag Champa with undertones of champa flowers, vanilla, rose geranium, jasmine and spices. You can find this and many others like lemongrass and jasmine on Etsy at Solstice Scents. Thanks to Theresa and her blog Art's the Answer! for this idea. Theresa is a decorative artist and has a fascinating blog-check it out!
