Saturday Inspiration

I hope you are all busy choosing or working on a post for the Blue and White Bash over at The Pink Pagoda on Monday. All the details are here. Speaking of details, I want my desk to look like this. You can find the pens and pencils at my friends iomoi and lots of great vintage brass crocs and gators on Etsy.

The Pink Entry

Parish Hadley

Everyone seemed to love this pink Chinoiserie entry I posted on yesterday by Sister Parish and Albert Hadley. I thought you might enjoy seeing some more foyers that combine pink and Chinoiserie-an unlikely but fabulous combination. Which is your favorite? Don't forget about iomoi on One Kings Lane today at 11 ET.

A Chinoiserie Secret

One of my favorite sources iomoi will be on One Kings Lane tomorrow. Here is a little preview. Offerings will include lucite trays, ice buckets, and stationery sets at over 50% off. The sale starts at 11 AM ET, but let's keep this to ourselves.

News from Chinoiserie Chic

Three little news tidbits from CC to start the week. First, many of you have requested receiving Chinoiserie Chic by email, and I have now had that added to my sidebar. By signing up, you will receive my new posts by email. Second, you will also see added to my sidebar a link to my Ideabooks on Houzz. Each month I will add a new Ideabook with my favorite Chinoiserie products out there in the marketplace. Third, I know how fun it is to see photos of each other's homes, so each Friday my post will be Friday From My Chinoiserie Home, showing you different rooms and vignettes from my house. Today we start with a new addition to my Pagoda Bedroom. I just got this darling little vintage faux bamboo side table at Grant K. Gibson's Tastemaker Tag Sale on One Kings Lane. I have added a lamp from my daughter's nursery, a Charlotte Moss silver pagoda topped candle, iomoi matches, a Chinoiserie John Derian button mirror, a vintage seashell clock, a Jeanne Reed ginger jar I just found at a thrift store for $12, and a copy of House Beautiful's new book Blue (that you need to get).

The Year of the Elephant

Although officially it is the Chinese Year of the Rabbit, it is clearly the year of the elephant in interior design. They are everywhere-search eBay and Etsy for vintage versions and HomeGoods is loaded with them right now. Below are three I love from Urban Outfitters, Z Gallerie, and iomoi. Stay tuned next week for a week devoted to pink Chinoiserie in honor of Valentine's Day and House Beautiful's pink issue.

Iomoi Monkey Business

I am crazy over this monkey tray for my desk to hold my iomoi calling cards.

Iomoi Obsession

I have been obsessing over this iomoi elephant and monkey tape dispenser since I first saw it. At $158.00, I have put off the temptation so far, but this piece is hand-poured, weighs three pounds and was created by a New York sculptor. I've decided to tell myself it is a good price for a work of art. What do you think? I really want it for my desk.

Chinoiserie Plates from iomoi

These custom melamine plates from iomoi could not be more chic. They can be customized with your choice of text and font. What a perfect hostess gift, wedding gift, or special treat for yourself. I am a huge fan of melamine plates for al fresco dining in the summer and these are absolutely fabulous.

Chinoiserie Calling Cards

I love chic calling cards and I have them for personal use, business, and, of course, my blogs. All my cards share two things in common-Chinoiserie motifs and always from iomoi. Here are examples of their many whimsical and wonderful Chinoiserie calling cards. I am going to treat myself to some new ones. Have any favorites?
