I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. As I have never been a fan of battling crowds on Black Friday, today I will be shopping online from the comfort of CCC as well as supervising window washing and doing some Christmas decorating. I have put together some great ideas for Black Friday shopping and Christmas gifts. All are things I love myself.

And our white sand beaches here are spectacular. Although this home above is in Provence in France, with its stucco exterior and tile roof, it could be in Florida.

I am 90% finished decorating my house for Christmas and I am taking some time today to shop the early Black Friday sales for myself and for gifts. It looks to me like virtually everyone is starting sales before Thanksgiving which is great. I will have my house decorated and Christmas shopping done this week. The early bird gets to relax in December!

Crazy busy here at CCC. It looks like I am going to be getting a new tile roof courtesy of Hurricane Ian and I was tied up yesterday with roofers and looking at tile samples. I'm deciding whether to stay with my classic Palm Beach barrel terracotta look or go with a more modern gray tile. Decisions decisions... and I am knee deep in making lots of Christmas ornaments and finalizing my Christmas decorating plans.

I suspect you noticed that I was MIA from my usual daily post yesterday. On Friday, I experienced vertigo that got progressively worse as the day progressed, with everything spinning nonstop. I went to the emergency room at the brand new Sarasota Memorial Hospital at Venice that literally just opened its doors. It is five minutes from my house. 

It looks more like a Ritz Carlton than a hospital. Seriously - check out the photo above. It has been likened to a modern art museum. It even has a blue meditation room. And it is filled with modern art. I should mention that it is a nationally ranked hospital by U.S. News and World Report. Another reason why Sarasota is the number one relocation destination in the country.

 I am generally not really a fan of rooms with lots of black, but Ralph Lauren can do anything. And check out that plant - is it a banana tree or bird of paradise? They look so similar. I am planning on getting one for the garden. 

But I picked a black room today because many of my favorite online stores have already started their Black Friday sales and I am going to indulge in a little Christmas shopping today. I never ever did Black Friday shopping in person in my entire life anyway. That would be my idea of hell. But with the pandemic, it would be a suicide mission. 

So a heads up that many of your online stores have likely already started their sales if you have Christmas shopping to do. Have fun. Shopping from bed is much more fun anyway!
