Outdoor Christmas Decorating Sans Snow & Black Friday

Most homes that are pictured decorated outdoors for the holidays show a dusting of snow. Personally, the only white I want for Christmas is white sand. And our white sand beaches here are spectacular. Although this home above is in Provence in France, with its stucco exterior and tile roof, it could be in Florida. 

Speaking of tile roofs, my tile samples for my new roof arrived Wednesday evening and I have looked at them a thousand times. I ordered all barrel profile tiles in terracotta - keeping it classic Old Florida which I love. Did you know that tile roofs originated in China? Most people associate them with Spanish architecture, but they were in China a thousand years ago. My roof is chinoiserie - LOL!

I don't think one can go wrong with keeping it classic with red and green for outdoor Christmas decorating. Poinsettias here in Florida can be used outdoors and garden centers are filled with them. Amaryllis too can be used here as an outdoor bulb. I have lots of topiaries in containers and I like the red bows with poinsettias at the base.
