Turquoise Blue Foo Dogs

Foo Dogs

I  have always loved turquoise blue foo dogs. They mix beautifully with blue and white Chinese porcelain like ginger jars. The color works especially well in a beach house.

Beach Chinoiserie

Pinterest

Wonderful ideas here - bamboo furniture and chandelier, a palette of turquoise blue, coral pink, and white, four Chinese garden stools, and a ginger jar with palm fronds. I love the pair of striped chairs with trim that looks like raffia.

Mixing Blues

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles

Don't be afraid to mix blues. All blues go together. This mantel is a lovely example of mixing turquoise foo dogs with blue and white ginger jars.

The Chinoiserie Bathroom

Shophouse Design
I have posted about hundreds of bathrooms and powder rooms, but this is definitely one that everyone loves and keeps asking about. The wallpaper is Cole & Son Fontainebleau, a real stunner, and perfect here juxtaposed against an all white bathroom.

This wallpaper depicts a wonderfully exuberant ‘tree of life,' inspired by the Palace of Fontainebleau outside Paris. Comprising leafy stems upon which are perched a flock of exotic and colourful birds, this wallpaper design is presented in two colourways of rose pinks on duck egg and fuchsia and emerald greens on a neutral ground.

Here it is in the other color way -

Palmer Weiss - House Beautiful
This dining room has a fabulous modern approach to Chinoiserie. The walls are lacquered in Benjamin Moore Seaweed. Chinoiserie elements include a fretwork sideboard, a blue and white Chinese garden stool, a blue and white bowl on the sideboard, and turquoise blue foo dogs.

The Blue Chinoiserie Dining Room

dmagazine.com
Such a stunning dining room with turquoise chairs and settee, striped silk taffeta tablecloth, crystal chandelier, and gorgeous Chinoiserie wallpaper. The use of a settee is a very modern element. You don't often see a settee with a round dining table and I really like this look.

Blue Coral & Chinoiserie

I bought a beautiful pair of antique coral engravings in a gorgeous turquoise blue a while back and finally decided to frame them for my "pagoda bedroom." I picked them up from the framers yesterday and I think they add a great summery vibe to this space. Here also are more lovely examples of combining blue and coral, a perfect combination with Chinoiserie.

The Pink Chinoiserie Desk

I mentioned in my post on Thursday that when I redo my office, I am thinking about painting my Chinese Chippendale desk pink like Julia's (from Pawleys Island Posh) wonderful coral pink desk in her One Room Challenge. I originally got the idea of a pink desk from this Mary McDonald office above.

Mary McDonald says that she brazenly painted the Chinese desk hot pink and gave it a European style studded linen velvet upholstered top. The room also includes aqua Chinese garden stools and antique turquoise Chinese lamps, as well as lots of Chinese porcelain pieces and foo dogs on the desk. l love the pink and chocolate brown color combination with pops of blue.

Barry Dixon Beach Chinoiserie

Barry Dixon created this exquisite living room-my favorite for a beach house-using Quadrille Paradise Background in Turquoise for pillows and draperies. I love the palette of pale aqua and turquoise that extends into the kitchen. The daybed is a wonderful choice-it works for an extra guest and is such a chic look.

Bamboo and Cane Chinoiserie Chairs

I am crazy about this style of Chinoiserie chair. LIVvintage has a beautiful pair pictured above available on Etsy for $175.00. Leave them natural and add cushions with a great Chinoiserie fabric, or lacquer them in turquoise blue, Chinese red, orange, black, or any color you like. Great for a living room, family room, breakfast room, eat in kitchen, or bedroom sitting area-super chic and versatile.
