Christmas Decorating Plans @ CCC

Amanda Lindroth

Now that Halloween is over, I have turned to my Christmas decorating plans at CCC.

I have a pair of the large wicker Amanda Lindroth pagodas pictured in the center. They are absolutely humongous - bigger than they look above - about three feet tall and a foot and a half wide. I decided I would love to decorate them for Christmas for my foyer.

Here are a couple of examples of Amanda decorating them. Here they are with small red ornaments. BTW, I have the palm tree and the hurricanes too!

And here she has it decorated this year with pieces from her new Holiday Collection.

You can find the wicker pagodas here and her Holiday collection here. I wanted my own original version and had a Eureka! moment yesterday and am making my own ornaments. I ordered my supplies yesterday. So no reveal yet - I will share when I decorate my house for Christmas. I can't wait.

When do you start your Christmas decorating? I will start the day after Thanksgiving. I am getting a new artificial Christmas tree and new ornaments - with a Palm Beach theme. I have been stalking HomeGoods for coastal ornaments - you almost have to camp out there to grab things. It's "in season" here and things literally fly off the shelves. It's gotten to the embarrassing point that not only do the employees there know me and the dogs, but so do the customers.

This week I will focus on a Christmas tree. I have looked in person at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Lowe's, and Home Depot - ugh! Many of you have recommended Balsam Hill and I am off to Tampa this week to see their trees in person at Nordstrom's.

Another little project I solved this week was finding some elegant stocking holders.

I have some gorgeous silk Christmas stockings from Caitlin Wilson (find them here) that I wish to hang.

I set out looking for an elegant "adult" stocking holder. And no, I don't want it to have a reindeer, nutcracker, snowman, Santa Claus, or Christmas tree on it. You would not believe how hard it is to find.

I found a gorgeous set at a fabulous price. They are real marble and come in a set of two for $15.00! They are elegant and low profile and won't compete with what is on your mantel. Remember that Target has very fast free shipping with a $35 order in lieu of fighting Christmas shoppers. I already got four of these (2 sets) and love them.

I may make another HomeGoods run today with dark sunglasses.

Have a great Sunday! Did you have to set any clocks back? Nowadays, with everything computerized, all of mine reset themselves. Wonderful!

  4. Yesterday I ordered a set of chinoiserie ginger jar ornaments from Amazon. Set of 8 for $29 - each about 3" tall. Hope they don't disappoint. Can't help but think they could work on Amanda's pagodas. Would there be enough room for them to hang well?

    1. No, not enough room - barley 4" so not enough room for a hook or hanger and to hang freely.

  5. I have a new King of Christmas tree this year and it is fabulous. Comes with gloves to wear while fluffing and a storage bag so that you don't have to keep the cardboard box. Lots of styles to choose from as well! They come very quickly right to your front door.

  6. Nordstrom will have a small selection of Balsam Hill trees but it will give you and idea of the quality. You can also order a kit from Balsam Hill that includes a sample of all the different varieties of needles from the various trees, of which there are many! I have several wreaths and other decor from Balsam Hill and have never been disappointed. Good luck!
