Sometimes I find a room that I love but don't post about it because it doesn't have any Chinoiserie elements. When I saw this room on Little Green Notebook, I immediately sent it off to a client as we are thinking about doing contrasting cushions on her sofa. But then on closer examination, I spotted the pagoda pillow on the chair and the turquoise ceramic single gourd lamp. So here you are - a wonderful room by Jeffrey Bilhuber with Chinoiserie touches!

That wall of art is fantastic. Looks like one is a mirror.
Loving the green lampshade on the blue lamp and the blue finial.
Such a fun mix of chairs and that pair of tufted blue chairs is fabulous.
I love the contrasting tiger cushions on the sofa.
Note how Chinoiserie is used here to add pops of color to a room with lots of neutrals.

Leopard Carpet

I struck a real chord yesterday mentioning my idea of carpeting the lower level of my house in leopard. Many of you have had the same idea of using leopard carpet. The more I thought about leopard, the more I realized it is the perfect choice. My Mary McDonald inspired dressing room would be very glamorous with leopard. It would be the perfect choice for my red library filled with singerie. It would be very cozy in my Mario Buatta chintz filled sitting room. And very importantly, it would be a kid, pet, and husband proof choice for my heavily used family room. It also solves what to use as a stair runner.

I know that Stark has some wonderful but pricey choices, but I will search out what else is out there. This project is on the back burner for right now, as my daughter's apartment is about to be repainted next week, and she and I will be doing some redecorating there. I promise to take pictures and post on her very Chinoiserie Chic Georgetown apartment as we work on it. For now, here is more inspiration on combining Chinoiserie and leopard floors.

Perfect Chinoiserie Rooms

Today's post has no theme-just four stunning Chinoiserie rooms from my design files too good to miss. Although from different homes, these together could be the start for a dream Chinoiserie home. I love each of these rooms. I am especially smitten with Jeffrey Bilhuber's room above that is a fabulous example of how many people today are trading in a formal dining room for a multi-purpose dining room/library/office.
