January Traditions

The Adoration of the Magi by Edward Byrne - Jones

Today is the Epiphany, also called Three Kings' Day, marking the day when the three kings or "wise men" came to see the baby Jesus in Bethlehem and proclaim him king. So I plan to spend the day taking down my Christmas trees and decorations, a tradition for many people. It always makes me a little sad - I absolutely adore homes decorated for the holidays. Oh well, until next year. I'm glad I am not in D.C. where 10 to 12 inches of snow is predicted today. It will be a high of 76 degrees here today. I have not had the heat on once this winter.

January Organizing

de Gournay

Once I take my Christmas decorations down this coming weekend, I am looking forward to some January organizing at CCC.

A favorite project (since I am obsessed with china), is cleaning out my china cabinets.

January Organizing with Chinoiserie

Mark & Graham

January is a perfect time of year for both organizing your home and for a little refresh. Mark & Graham is having a great weekend sale and I have put together some chinoiserie decor favorites. Included are lots of trays and catchalls. These are wonderful tools for organizing - they make items look organized as opposed to messy. (And many Dana Gibson picks).

Kitchn

Are your kitchen towels in disheveled stacks in a kitchen drawer? Here is a much better way to organize them and some ideas for upgrading your kitchen towels as well. (Turn your tattered ones into rags for cleaning and polishing projects).

January Organizing & a Candle Steal

Carolyne Roehm - One King's Lane

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. One of my passions is china - I absolutely adore fine china and I use it every day. I am very meticulous about caring for it safely and properly. I know the new year is a few days away, but with cold temps outside, January is the perfect month for indoor projects like organizing your china. Here is a sneak peek at some home organization posts I have planned for January.
