Juju Hat Update - From Tribal to Vintage
On Saturday, I posted about Michelle Adam's fantastic mini juju hat in the new edition of Lonny shown below. I mentioned that I was now on the hunt for one. Junell of Seekers Bazaar suggested a vintage feather hat as an alternative. If you remember my dressing room, I collect vintage hats, so I checked out my collection and found this little beauty. Although not African or a juju, it is evocative of one and the colors and feel of it are great on my Chinoiserie chest. Instant free gratification!
Tomorrow is the reveal in the One Room Challenge. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a bit of sun today after days of gloom, so I can take decent photos of both my powder room and my living room (the final room in my house tour).

Styling the Chinoiserie Console 2
Another of Jamie Meares' wonderful versions of styling the console using many of our favorite elements here at Chinoiserie Chic.
The palette is pink and blue with touches of black and gold. I have an entire Pinterest board devoted to Pink and Blue Chinoiserie here.
The focal point is a fantastic coral pink faux bamboo mirror. Find my Pinterest board on Coral Pink and Chinoiserie here.
A pair of black gourd lamps anchor the arrangement and keep it from becoming too twee. Black is also picked up in the pair of black and white striped canisters. Find my Pinterest board on Stripes and Chinoiserie here.
My favorite touch is the iconic Harry Allen Pig Bank that I adore. I have one in gold and one in silver and a board on decorating with them here.
Another great tip is to pull books out of your book collection that pick up the colors you are using in your tablescape. I have boards on Chinoiserie Tablescapes here and Chinoiserie Books and Bookcases here.
Many of these items are available at Jamie's amazing shop Furbish. You can also follow me on Pinterest.

Sunday Inspiration
I'm crazy about this living room by Jamie Meares of Furbish from Lonny magazine. I especially love the use of color, the abstract modern art, the Chinese garden stools, the blue and white Chinese porcelain, the pink piping on the chairs, and the gold Harry Allen pig. These Harry Allen pig banks are multiplying at my house - I have one in gold, one in silver, gave one to my daughter in gold, and want another in pink. Are the ruffled curtains homage to Miles Redd? I have yet to embrace this look. I do love unlined curtains, but sans ruffles and in silk. Two rules here to follow - go BIG in art and in chandeliers for a wonderful sense of drama.
