CCC - My Kentucky Derby Hat

I will be hosting a Kentucky Derby Party next weekend and I made this Kentucky Derby hat yesterday to wear. I have never seen anything like it! I'll try it on today and decide if I want to add anything else to it and also figure out my outfit. 

I just added this beautiful vintage red silk rose from my collection. The Derby is The Run for the Roses - the winner is draped with a garland of red roses.

The vintage doll riding outfit includes a riding jacket, riding pants, riding boots, a velvet riding helmet, and crop I got on eBay. And a collectible Breyer 50th Anniversary Secretariat Figurine also from eBay. Also a vintage 1947 Derby Day ticket stub and a Churchill Downs watercolor postcard I had.

Since this is one of my wine tastings and food pairing events, we will be tasting the official wines of the Kentucky Derby - Kendall Jackson and La Crema and pairing the wines with traditional Derby recipes.

I will be awarding prizes for Best Hat or Fascinator, Most Creative, and Best Dressed Gent. The winners will each get a bottle of Kendall Jackson's first ever sparkling wine - Vintner's Reserve Brut Cuvée.
