Memorial Day falls quite early this year - May 25th and, of course, the Fourth of July will be a big deal this year with our nation's 250th. I was in New York City for the 200th and still remember the Tall Ships and the fireworks. I will also be hosting a Fourth of July Wine Tasting & Pairing and have started thinking about red, white, and blue decorations. I just found these fabulous wicker indoor and oudoor Stars and Stripes hot air balloons at HomeGoods.
The basket at the bottom can hold battery candles. These would be fabulous hanging in a tree, or flanking an entrance, or as table centerpieces. They are quite large (over 2 feet) and will make quite a statement. Keep your eyes peeled for these - they are being resold for $$$$ on places like eBay and Etsy. (They were $49.99 each at HomeGoods). They are not available online. They are from Martha Stewart's collection and I am a big fan. I will use them as banquet table centerpieces for my party and also at the entrance of CCC for both holidays.
Keep in mind that with all the blue and white tabletop and decor we chinoiserie lovers have, decorating for Memorial Day and the Fourth can be done very simply with just adding touches of red.
Here are some ideas options I love -
Cocktails napkins are a great way to add a pop of color to a blue and white table setting -
