The Chinoiserie Bedroom

Ashley Hanley - Southern Home

Such a stunning space featuring Schumacher's Madame de Pompadour wallpaper, wicker, and a blue and white ginger jar. This is the master bedroom of a home on the James River in Williamsburg, Virginia.

More below from this pretty room. I love the blue cove ceiling.

The pagoda shaped cornices, rattan coffee table, and green velvet slipper chairs are lovely touches.

I always like trying to make out titles of the coffee table books in rooms - the top book is one I have in my library - a book about decorating and entertaining with floral style called A Botanical Touch.

A Botanical Touch by Cynthia Gibson

Here are some more ideas inspired by this room. I found a brass mirrored faux bamboo round tray like the one above at a fabulous price - it's on sale with an extra 20% off with code EXTRA20.

And a gorgeous similar blue and white ginger jar -

    1. It is a lovely wallpaper, and not as crazy expensive as the hand painted silk ones.

    1. The article did not share any of the details like paint colors. It looks like Farrow & Ball Borrowed Light, but that is just a wild guess.

  4. Those reading lamps in the third pic... do you or anyone have a source? The skinny lamp from Wisteria was my go to...sigh. Since then, all I've found has the retractable arm. The room is perfection. Thank you for sharing Beth!

  5. These rooms by Ashley Hanley are just too, too pretty! I especially love the first one which appears to be an entry hall or entry way. That wallpaper is stunning. Thank you for this very pretty post, Beth.

    1. As I said in the post, it is the bedroom - the hallway is done in the same wallpaper.
