The container is Delft with chinoiserie vignettes. The rope twist handle is gorgeous. Here is another beautiful example of sunflowers with blue and white.

And although I am generally not a big fan of mixing flowers, the hydrangeas and sunflowers are very pretty together.

Trader Joe's is a good source for the smaller sunflowers in different colors. Cut sunflowers are fragrance free which is a plus for some people, and they last 6 to 12 days. Make a fresh cut in the stem bottom and use floral preservative to extend their life.

I, too, am not a Fan of sunflowers, BUT - your teaching moment of saying they're fragrance free has me intrigued ;) I so appreciate you teaching me something via your posts - but, alas, think I'll pass on the sunflowers - LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL. I would use the smaller hybrids - they are pretty for summer.
DeleteTo me sunflowers are a “happy face” every time you see them in an arrangement. They last quite a while & remind me of the Sun….bright & cheery. I live in the South and nothing compares to a field of glorious sunflowers, picture a field in France of lavender but of yellow. I think blue and yellow are great complimentary colors. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBeth, l love your posts.
Thanks so much. I love the yellow mustard fields in France too.
DeleteHi, where oh where can I get the Charlotte Moss planter with the twisted handles?!!!
ReplyDeleteAn antique from her private collection.
DeleteBeautiful. I agree with Sallycat - there are few things as beautiful as a field of sunflowers. I once planted a bed of sunflowers along with light blue climbing morning glories. As the sunflowers grew, the morning glories climbed up their stems. It was lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnything Charlotte Moss does is perfection in my book!
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteThey always remind me of Provance and I love them with blue & white.
ReplyDeleteLike mustard fields in Provence. So pretty.
DeleteI always buy them for my son's birthday ( in June). They're very masculine to me.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are quite bold.
