A Chic Pink & Blue Palette

Jonathan Adler

My design aesthetic has definitely changed somewhat since living in Florida. I have really embraced white walls. My house is white stucco outside (Sherwin Williams Alabaster) and white walls inside as well (Benjamin Moore Classic Gray), a warm white.

The Palm Beach Bath

Gil Shafer - Luxe Magazine

A beautiful bathroom with wallpapered walls, a dramatic Paule Marrot print, and a vintage elephant garden stool.

The pups and I are off on a road trip to collect my canvas palm tree - my Christmas gift to myself that has been tied up in port. Very exciting!

Combining Classics with a Twist

One of my favorite wallpapers is the classic Zebrine by Rose Cumming. In this bedroom, interior designer Liz Caan uses it in the navy colorway with another of my favorites - the piece of art is the iconic "Feathers" by Paule Marrot. The pops of purple give the room a very modern edge.

Saturday Inspiration - "Pink" Art

Every time I do a post that includes Paule Marrot's "Feathers" I get emails and comments inquiring about it. As you can see, I am a bit obsessed with it. It keeps reappearing in my inspiration boards and even in my doll house. It is the number one item on my wish list for my home. Unfortunately, its size has kept me wondering where it will go, so I have not pulled the trigger.

Below are inspiration boards of mine as well as rooms with this beautiful piece of art. Notice that it can be ordered to hang vertically or horizontally.

Paule Marrot Feathers Inspiration Board

I have always wanted to do a room using Paule Marrot's iconic work "Feathers" as the focal point. Here I have created a living room with a modern Crate and Barrel Aidan sofa, a pair of antique Chinese garden stools, fretwork pillows from Furbish, a Jonathan Adler pink zebra ruga black marble Saarinen cocktail table from Room and Board, and a pair of Seville chairs from Room and Board inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I could be quite happy in this living room - feminine but sophisticated, with a mix of periods and Chinoiserie, just my style. To see more of the work of French engraver, painter, and textile artist Paule Marrot (1902 - 1987), visit my Pinterest board here.
