New Year's Eve Tips

Mumm Napa Brut Prestige

Here are my tips for ringing in the New Year in style. My go-to Champagne is Mumm Napa Brut Prestige. Although technically it is a sparkling wine since it is not from the Champagne region, it is elegant and lovely and very well priced at under $20 a bottle.

Serve in Champagne flutes as opposed to saucer style glasses as they preserve the bubbles much better. Chill the wine very well and keep in a Champagne bucket after opening. Champagne should be served as chilled as possible.

I love to serve it with warmed blinis with creme fraiche and salmon caviar (I just got them all at Whole Foods).

I decorate with lots of white roses and white pillar battery candles. I am addicted to Sirius XM in my car and at home and will play a station with the Great American Songbook like Siriusly Sinatra.

I just got these darling tuxedo slipper cocktail napkins - I have a bit of a cocktail napkin thing and have quite a collection for every occasion.

On New Year's Day I always have collard greens and black eyed peas to bring good fortune in the new year.

The following evening I am hosting my Paso Robles/Western wine tasting & pairing.
