Flair by Joe Nye |
This table setting is from the wonderful book Flair by Joe Nye who was a favorite interior designer and a lovely man who we lost way too soon. I think it is great inspiration for setting the Fourth of July table with red, white, and blue and chinoiserie!

His book came out in 2010 and it is still one of my absolute favorites for entertaining and interior design.
Here are some ideas of mine for setting the Fourth of July table -
Fill a ginger jar with red, white, or red and white carnations. I love carnations and they have become very chic for flower arranging in both heirloom colors and new colors -

Red and White Bicolor Carnation |
Good morning Beth,
ReplyDeleteKeep your fingers crossed, only one book left on Amazon. Hopefully I'll be the lucky winner. Never heard of Joe Nye bur the table is gorgeous and I'm excited to see what other magic he created. If it's in your top ten then I'll be breathing slowly until I get my copy. The Mottahed blue and white is my everyday china. Never disappoints. The simplest food looks like it came from the Four Seasons.
The shell chargers you featured arrived and they are a class act. Did you get a set for yourself? Now I'll be cruising for the toile tablecloth. Any idea where to find it?
The red and white Carnations I'll have to order from my florist.
You are such a gem finding all the stuff I don't need, but must have.
Often wonder how often you rotate your designer books?
Morning coffee with Beth is like dancing tango in Buenos Aires. Thanks.

Some lovely items here. However, the U.S. Flag Code states that the American flag should never be used as bedding, drapery, or wearing apparel so, as cute as it is, I would not use the Chappy Wrap blanket.
ReplyDeleteThis is why it is helpful being a lawyer. You cannot use an actual flag as bedding, drapery, or wearing apparel. It does not mean a printed image of the flag which is 100% permissible.
DeleteI also very much enjoyed his book. Very helpful!
