Warming Up Blue & White for Christmas

Caspari

For those of us who love blue and white all year round (including Christmas), this vignette has loads of inspiration. Many of us have blue and white rooms we'd like to decorate for the holidays.

I personally find using nothing but blue and white Christmas decorations to be a bit cold if not icy. Above red and green touches add a Christmas vibe to a primarily blue and white palette. Green is brought in here through the tablecloth, glassware, and topiaries. Red ribbons, napkins, pomegranates, and berry wreaths add a Christmassy feel. For more pomegranate inspiration, see yesterday's post.

I love the oversized ginger jars. This space needs the scale of something big and bold with all the smaller pieces.

These topiaries are all preserved boxwood BTW. Preserved boxwood is natural boxwood that has been treated to retain its color and texture.

Ballard Designs has a beautiful selection of preserved boxwood on sale now.

I am not a fan of the ribbon tied to the Chinese Chippendale chair - I would use these wonderful mini preserved boxwood wreaths -

Fresh pomegranates are wonderful for Christmas decorating. Did you know you can preserve them yourself?

To dry pomegranates for floral uses, arrange whole ones in a single layer on a rack. Keep them in a cool place for a few weeks for use in centerpieces and wreaths and for decoration. Once dried, they last many, many years.

These lead crystal goblets would be a great choice -

Have a great weekend. It's in the 80s here even though the holidays are right around the corner. I'm not complaining....

  1. So pretty! Blue and white looks so Christmassy, especially with the red accents.
