A great way to design a color palette for your home (and for your garden) is to start in your closet. What colors are dominant? My closet and my home are largely blue and pink. More specifically, navy blue, coral pink, hot pink, and blush pink. And stripes in both - especially blue and white stripes. Since moving to Florida, there are also more tropical colors in both my home and wardrobe.
I would love to know if your closet and your home match too. What is your color palette and if they are not the same, why the difference? Over the years, often when I have posted on a room with pink, I get a comment that "I would love to use pink in my house, but my husband won't let me." Cringe....
I already wanted your home, now I want your wardrobe too.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks.
DeleteYour closet is pretty and so wonderfully girly…I mean feminine lol.
ReplyDeleteI’d say that mine matches my home too. Minimal with lots of navy and white and pops of pinks/red/orange!
Sounds wonderful!
DeleteI do believe that you will be happiest when your style is your style in the home, garden, or clothing. Thom Filicia had a show on TV years ago called Dress My Nest, where he decorated a room based on 3 favorite items in your wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteA great concept for a show.
DeleteWe seem to be operating in the same color palette, Beth. I actually think that certain pinks can be quite sophisticated, and are very often flattering to people's complexions.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me where you found the pink and white handbag that looks like a beach ball. It's wonderful!
It is a Kate Spade handbag - a hot air balloon. Unfortunately a limited edition and no longer available. I have been collecting Kate Spade since her first collection.
DeleteBeth, the treasures at Home Goods find you; they want to live in your house.
ReplyDeletePretty much, LOL. And HomeGoods is dog friendly, so the pups get to come along and help.
DeleteYour closet is an absolute fantasy land of gorgeous treasures. I just love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.
DeleteI notice that you have a "Nap" dress in your closet--in pinks and ecru with seashells on it. Do you like the dress? And how do you wear it?
ReplyDeleteI have ten and the family is growing. The one you are referencing is the Mermaid print from their latest drop. I wear them constantly in my house and going out with a great pair of sandals, statement earrings, and a straw bag. I get loads of compliments. They are such favorites. DeleteLove your frames on the rose prints. Wondering is you had them done or they came that way. I have a wonderful very vintage book of prints that I would like to get some done, but it costs an arm and a leg, considering that I want a whole bunch! I was thinking of doing it myself if I could source the frames I would like.
ReplyDeleteThe camellia prints are antique and I had them professionally framed. For cost effective framing, I would look at ready made frames at Michael's and frames on Etsy.
DeleteMy last home was wall-to-wall colorful wallpaper and fabrics, so it definitely matched my closet. The new home is all white walls and wood beams, which is taking some getting used to—definitely not a match for my wardrobe! P.S., I TOTALLY agree about cringing when I hear someone say their husband won't "let" them decorate with pink. Thank goodness my husband loves all colors!
ReplyDeleteCurious whether you are decorating the new house with color, or is the decor neutral as well?
DeleteI tried to convince myself I could do neutrals in the new place for about 2 weeks and then had to give up—I just love color too much! An electric blue sofa is now winging its way from North Carolina to join our teal one and hot pink club chairs—LOL!
DeleteThank God!
