This wonderful powder room features one of my absolute favorite wallpapers - Quadrille Lyford Trellis. The bamboo and cane mirror is perfect. The hand soap looks like Nest's Ocean Mist and Sea Salt. The picture light style fixture is very chic.
Perhaps my favorite element is the vintage Steve McQueen black and white photograph. BTW, using a framed photograph is a great way way to keep a room fresh and modern and edgy and not granny. The photographer was famed war photographer and photojournalist John Dominis for Look magazine.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI just love this....all of it. I’m looking for a similar light —or one with a conical shape but am having a hard time knowing what to call it. As a last resort I have been trying to search “art light” as this is similar to those over paintings. But I’m having a low success rate. Any ideas? I need it for over a large decoupage mirror in a small bathroom.
As I said in my post, they are called picture lights and there are zillions of great ones out there in every finish. As an example, look at Circa Lighting/Visual Comfort.
DeleteGreat tip about using a black and white photo to keep a room from looking too granny. Love the wallpaper. One of my favorites, too. So timeless.
ReplyDeleteIconic chinoiserie wallpaper for sure.
DeleteSpeaking of chic powder rooms... Yours! Will you be sharing pictures post wallpaper hanging? The orange and black sounded so interesting back when you first described your plans.
ReplyDeleteI will - I keep getting distracted with other things going on.
DeletePretty wallpaper and mirror, but in a room this small, the wallpaper might be a little busy for me.
ReplyDeleteI personally think a powder room is the best place for a bold wallpaper that would be overwhelming in a larger room.
