Linda of My Crafty Home Life and creator of the One Room Challenge has created a little mini challenge to keep us all off the streets. Each of us has the next 2 weeks to plan and create our own DIY painted rug with the reveal on October 4th. Painted rugs are all the rage with bloggers creating fantastic versions of very expensive rugs for very little $$.
When I decided to participate in Linda's Paint a Rug Party, it sounded like fun. I had a ball participating in her One Room Challenge and was ready for another of her challenges. Then reality set in -
1. I am a complete and total perfectionist.
2. I am not a DIY type.
3. I don't paint.
4. I don't need a rug anywhere in my home.
5. I am crazy busy.
After mulling this around for a while, I looked at some DIY paint your own rugs online and saw that the easiest is stripes. I love stripes and I love combining stripes and Chinoiserie. I even have a
Pinterest board on the subject!

I also have a hallway that could use a chic new runner. Then I remembered saving this photo of the runner in the top picture - it is the
kira-cph classic no. 2 whatever that is. I love the black and white stripes and the pop of orange and pink - two of my favorite colors. But is is about $400 - crazy! So I have decided to try my hand at replicating this runner. How hard can it be? Famous last words.... Here are my fellow participants. Go check out what they have in store:
Come back next Thursday for a progress report.
I knew you would crack me up! I can't get passed the title. After seeing your dollhouse, you can totally do this.
