Anthropologie has this wallpaper shown above that would be amazing in a Chinoiserie powder room, entryway, or dressing room with blue and white Chinese porcelain, black and gold lacquered Chinoiserie furniture or other Chinoiserie touches. It would also be great for the DIY type - it is brown kraft paper with gold painted polka dots.

A Look Back at Chinoiserie at the Oscars

At the Academy Awards in 1997, Nicole Kidman wowed in this striking chartreuse silk Chinoiserie gown by John Galliano for Christian Dior. This dress has gone down as one of the most memorable in Oscar history for three reasons - its cut and color were highly unique in a sea of pastel ball gowns, she raised the bar for stars to wear haute couture to the Oscars, and she started the trend of borrowing jewelry for the event.

This incredible powder room is from the 1939 movie The Women. The door is silver leaf with a crystal handle. The vanity has lucite legs. My favorite is the pagoda topped mirror. Utterly fabulous!
