At the Academy Awards in 1997, Nicole Kidman wowed in this striking chartreuse silk Chinoiserie gown by John Galliano for Christian Dior. This dress has gone down as one of the most memorable in Oscar history for three reasons - its cut and color were highly unique in a sea of pastel ball gowns, she raised the bar for stars to wear haute couture to the Oscars, and she started the trend of borrowing jewelry for the event.
I remember how stunning it was at the time!

One of my all time favorites. Chartreuse is one of my top colors, and not everyone can pull it off. But really, it's the details--like that fur trim on the slits!

One of my all-time favorites! Chartreuse is one of my favorite colors, and hardly anyone can pull it off in fashion. But it's really the details that do it here--like the fur trim on the side slits! Amazing.
