Island Style

Amanda Lindroth

I love everything about this dining room - a marble Saarinen table, Grotto shellback chairs (look like vintage Brown Jordan) in mint green, rattan peacock chairs, bougainvillea from the garden, and highly collectible Mario Lopez Torres monkey wicker chandelier and egret lamp. Bare windows for lots of light and beautiful outdoor views.

Grandmillennial/Old School Chinoiserie

Ware M. Porter

This was the color of my daughter's nursery, a very soft mint green. I love this. It looks like the Chinese Chippendale chairs are painted the same color. I still love relaxed roman shades like these and a beautiful brass chandelier. And don't miss the hand painted or stenciled palm trees. The table is set with beautiful place mats - yeah!, silver, candlesticks, place cards, and bamboo flatware. Please check out the individual floral arrangements at each place setting.

This is so beautiful. I am really liking the idea of the painted palm tress. My painter does beautiful faux painting - I think I mentioned in my kitchen he surprised me by painting the 10 foot column faux marble to match my countertops. He could do this. Don't those look stenciled? Isn't this a lovely room?

Chinoiserie Christmas

I just snagged a pair of these pagoda candle holders in this yummy mint color for 50% off at the florist in my shopping center. Deciding where to use them for the holidays. I have the same one in black and in red shown below.

The Chinoiserie Dining Room

This is a lovely dining room with a color I love on the walls, a soft mint green. China Seas Fiorentina on the Chinese Chippendale chairs. The relaxed roman shades with thick bullion fringe and the brass chandelier are great touches.

Saturday Inspiration - Mint Green & Chinoiserie

de Gournay
I love the combination of mint green and Chinoiserie. Mint green is so fresh and cool on a hot summer day. It is a wonderful backdrop for blue and white and celadon Chinese porcelain. I used the same mint green paint color in my daughter's nursery and in my current kitchen. Here are some lovely examples of mint rooms to inspire you.

The Chinoiserie Child's Bedroom

David Kleinberg Design
In this child's bedroom, Quadrille Paradise Garden takes center stage in the duvet and accent wall. Note the striped roman shade - stripes and Chinoiserie are such a winning combination. Check out my Pinterest board on Stripes and Chinoiserie here. Note too the mint walls - a color that seems to be popping up everywhere. Great space saving ideas also for a small room like the pair of floor to ceiling cabinets flanking the bed and the swing arm sconces. My Pinterest board on The Chinoiserie Child's Room has more great ideas.

Linda from My Crafty Home Life was not only the fearless leader and intrepid organizer of the One Room Challenge, she transformed her master bedroom into a Chinoiserie Chic paradise. You must check out her reveal post to see all the details including Ikea hack built-ins with coral pink painted backs and brass hardware, ginger jar prints from The Pink Pagoda, vintage faux bamboo mirrors painted coral pink, Ikea hack bedside chests in mint green with gold O'verlays, a fabulous collection of vintage Chinoiserie paint by numbers turned into a gallery wall, and a pineapple chandelier that went from creepy Colonial to Palm Beach chic. Isn't this fabulous!

One Room Challenge: Mint Green

Mary McDonald
Many of you have inquired about my mint green kitchen wall paint color. The color is Benjamin Moore #457 called Icy Morn. It has two meanings for me this morning because the power came back on late yesterday afternoon and I awoke to a deliciously cool house. I love this color - it works unbelievably well with Chinoiserie - a perfect backdrop for blue and white Chinese porcelain, black and gold lacquered pieces, celadon, and Chinese red. Here are three mint green Chinoiserie rooms as examples. I have used this color for clients in a nursery and in a sun porch and it was lovely. I also predict that mint green will be a big color in 2013.
