The Blue and White Office

Ballard Designs
Beautiful inspiration for a work space - blue and white, bright and airy, with lots of blue and white Chinese porcelain and a pop of emerald green (like yesterday's post).

Blue and White

Ballard Designs

A beautiful and bright home office in blue and white - I love the emerald green curtains as well. That green goes so well with blue and white.

The Chinoiserie Office

Victoria Press - Vogue UK

Isn't this a wonderful example of how to incorporate Chinoiserie in your office, study, or library? A beautiful Chinoiserie desk and a collection of blue and white Chinese porcelain are perfect choices.

One Room Challenge - My Office Reveal

Today is the finale of this edition of the One Room Challenge. I hope you enjoy the reveal of my office. My goal was to turn my traditional red library into a bright, airy, glamorous, and girly workspace for myself. To start from the beginning of this makeover, Click Here.

A huge thank you to Linda of Calling it Home for inviting me to participate.

I had not shared with you that my goal was to spend under $1,000 total as a little challenge to myself.

Here is what I spent -

$260 - paint and professional painting
$240 - gold zebra rug (after sponsor credit from Wayfair)
$30 - frames
$20 - materials to gold leaf desk
$60 - desk accessories
$290 - custom roman shade
$25 - Nate Berkus pillow from Target
$15 - hanging files
$18 - roses from Costco

TOTAL = $958

There is enough left for a very nice bottle of wine to celebrate.

This was made possible in part by the participation of One Room Challenge sponsors -

Pair of peony botanical photographs from The Pink Pagoda
Black and white framed photograph from Minted
Gold zebra cowhide rug from Wayfair
Cream and gold magazine holder from Jayes

Everything else was items I had already in my home. I just went shopping in my own home for free.

The gold leaf desk is an Ikea Vittsjo desk that I gold leafed myself with $20 in materials from Michaels and an hour of my labor. All the details here.

Some of you may remember my Chinoiserie Chic doll house. I decided that my office was an ideal spot to display it -

Thanks so much to Crystal Downs for her wonderful photography.

I am excited to see the reveals of the other participants too!
