I became a tartan fan living in Alexandria, Virginia for many years. Alexandria was founded by Scotsmen and the biggest event of the year is the Scottish Walk, always the first weekend in December. The weekend always included a gala where tartan was the preferred attire. I would wear a black watch tartan strapless silk taffeta gown.

Leopard is a hot trend for this fall and winter. I love leopard, but it is a look that IMHO one needs to approach in an understated and elegant way. I posted recently on leopard calf hair accessories that I love. See that post here. When it comes to clothing, I stay as far away from sexy and slinky in leopard as I can. I keep it classic.
