Florida Vignette

My Home

I am really enjoying putting my things together in new ways in the Florida house. Above is a skirted table styled in my new family room and below in the old family room. The 10 foot ceilings in the Florida house definitely make everything look better!

HomeGoods Find

Drexel - Jo Sampson

I ran intoHomeGoods today and immediately spotted this very chic end table - part of a collection by Jo Sampson for Drexel. The retail price was $1,200 and it was priced at $135.00. The top is mirrored, the spoke legs have leather wraps, and the feet are brass. I think it is great. It will work very well in my family room pictured below. I like HomeGoods very much, but 99% of the merchandise is knockoffs and I am always thrilled to find high end pieces like this.

My Christmas Decorating-Family Room

In my family room I use a gold and silver color scheme. The tree is filled with vintage ornaments collected on eBay and lots of gold and silver "picks" from Michael's. I think this is an elegant and sophisticated look that works well with many room color schemes. I personally greatly prefer this to blue and white which is so in vogue right now that I find to be cold. The tulipieres on the mantel will be filled with red or white tulips when I venture out to Costco this afternoon. Thanks to everyone for their supportive comments and emails regarding my burglary Monday. Still sorting things out of course.
