Chic Mix

Pursuing Vintage

I love the way vintage cloisonné mixes with blue and white Chinese porcelain.

Saturday Inspiration

via Pinterest
Such a pretty vignette. I love all the gold with the pops of pink and blue velvet on the chair and stools. The use of Chinoiserie, as is often the case, adds a bit of whimsy to a fairly serious spot. I like the large gray cloisonne vase on top of the snakeskin boxes. Cloisonne is so underused and can be had for a song on Etsy, eBay, flea markets, and such. Pairs of small cloisonne vases are also very effective as shown below. In the photo above, I also love how the foo dogs have been placed a bit askew and with their back towards each other. Perhaps they had a fight.

Sunday Inspiration-Cloisonne

I have a feeling that vintage cloisonne is about to make a comeback in the interior design world, especially in turquoise blue like the wonderful little vignette above from House Beautiful. Cloisonne can be had for a song on eBay, Etsy, thrift stores, and estate sales. I especially like pairs of small vases, a great way to add a pop of color anywhere you like.

A Chinoiserie Vignette-Turquoise Cloisonne

I haven't posted a vignette in a while, and fell in love with this one from House Beautiful via Pink Wallpaper. The turquoise cloisonne vases just pop. Flea markets and eBay are great sources for these little vintage beauties. Have a wonderful weekend.
