Gift Guide - Gifts for the Bed Baby

CCC

I love my bed and love being in bed. I am convinced that part of sleeping well is having a beautifully outfitted bed (i.e. luxuriously comfortable). Here are my favorites. These make great Christmas gifts too. Many are on great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals - don't snooze on these sales!

Palm Trees Indoors

Amanda Lindroth

In this fanciful tropical bedroom, Amanda Lindroth combines many of my favorite things. Wicker and rattan is in abundance - they will continue to be huge trends in 2021 - especially designer versions of these wonderful natural elements. The rattan canopy bed is fantastic and I am a sucker for canopy beds. I always wanted one as a child and my parents refused in their ultra modern mid century home. Note the wicker pagodas and rattan breakfast tray.

Other favorite elements include the palette of pink and green, orchids, seashells, and stripes.

I like her use of faux canvas palm trees mixed with real palm trees. I have an extra blue and white Chinese fish bowl and I love the look of a live palm in a fish bowl topped with moss. Which palm species have you all had good luck with indoors? I think I will venture out to Home Depot and Lowe's today as I am also looking for camellias.

More on Making the Perfect Bed

Danielle Rollins

A wicker bed tray is a great addition to the perfect bed. This wicker tray is from Danielle Rollins' online shop and is shown above in her former Buckhead Atlanta bedroom. She has recently moved into a newly restored home in Palm Beach.

For those who are not fans of eating in bed, a bed tray also is wonderfully useful for magazines, mail, or a mini desk with so many working from home now. A quick search turned up many new and vintage wicker versions - there are lot of vintage ones on eBay and Etsy starting at around $60 that could even be spray painted - coral pink, emerald green, or navy blue would all be fun. I have also seen them used on sofas as a little mini work station.

Danielle Rollins' former Palm Beach pied a terre

I was at HomeGoods in Sarasota the other day while my pups were at the groomers and remembered their excellent bedding department where I have found Matouk, Frette, and Pratesi. I scored a beautiful set of Italian cotton sheets in white embroidered in navy that retail for $600 for $80 as well as a lovely summer weight goose down comforter perfect for here.
