Chinoiserie Chic Trends 2018

Beth Connolly Interiors

Sage green is a hot color for 2018 and deservedly so. Green was a bit ignored in 2017 and is coming back strong this year. In sage it is a subtle neutral. It is wonderful with Chinoiserie.

Black in the kitchen is an emerging trend for 2018 and pairs so beautifully with Chinoiserie - black granite countertops with blue and white Chinese porcelain, black and white Chinoiserie wallpaper with a black and white checkerboard floor, black lampshades and cabinets trimmed in black with a pink palm chandelier, black kitchen accessories with black and white Chinoiserie wallpaper - all great ideas.

Chinoiserie Chic Trends 2018

Amanda Lindroth

Another design trend for 2018 will be using wood, but in unexpected places. Here Amanda Lindroth uses mahogany kitchen countertops in a Chinoiserie infused kitchen with palm wallpaper and elephant accessories. The simple organic element of wood is a wonderful contrast to Chinoiserie. Here is another beautiful example of wood kitchen countertops with blue and white Chinese porcelain.

A wood beamed ceiling is a great juxtaposition in this living room filled with blue and white Chinese porcelain.

Chinoiserie Chic Trends 2018

Beth Connolly Interiors

This week we will look at interior design trends predicted for 2018 that work especially well with Chinoiserie. First on my list is the color lavender. Pretty, but less feminine and more sophisticated than pink that has been so popular the last few years, it combines beautifully with Chinoiserie. It is gorgeous paired with blue and white Chinese porcelain and I love it with Chinese red.
