Blog Anniversary Giveaway and Blue & White Bash

Chinoiserie Chic has just turned 5 years old. To celebrate, The Pink Pagoda has created this Chinoiserie Chic Limited Edition Set of four graphic botanical prints in hot pink. This gorgeous set of giclees will be given to one lucky winner. To enter, just leave a comment at the end of this post. The giveaway runs until noon ET Friday, May 9th and the winner will be announced on Saturday, May 10th.

Today I am also linking up for the Blue and White Bash at The Pink Pagoda. Here is a sneak peek of three photos from the reveal of my Chinoiserie Man Cave showing you how I have used blue and white Chinoiserie in the room.

A blue and white ginger jar can work beautifully in a man's space. On the burlap skirted table, I used this large ginger jar with a calligraphy and Greek key design. I think both the scale and the design give it a masculine feel. I have also used a metal tiered pagoda, calligraphy brushes, and a pair of vintage Fitz & Floyd giraffes.

Here is a shot of the bookcase that I have topped with a collection of blue and white Chinese porcelain. The little painting is Russian, given to me by a friend.

A Chinese garden stool is such a classic that works anywhere. Nestled between the distressed leather sofa and the black leather butterfly chair, it is a perfect perch for a drink or book.

I hope you will stop by the Blue and White Bash today and will be here for my One Room Challenge reveal on Wednesday.

Blue and White Bash on Monday

The Pink Pagoda will be hosting one of her wonderful blue and white linking parties this coming Monday, May 5th. If this will be your first time participating, you can read more about it here.

I plan to do a post for the linking party on how I am using blue and white in the Chinoiserie Man Cave that will be revealed in the One Room Challenge finale this coming Wednesday, May 7th. Any of you who are in the One Room Challenge or are One Room Challenge Linking Participants might like to post on how you are using blue and white in your rooms for the Blue and White Bash. I hope to see you there!

A Blue and White Foyer DIY

House Beautiful

Today I am linking up over at the Pink Pagoda for her Blue and White Bash. I hope you are too.

I fell in love with this amazing foyer in Amanda Lindroth's home in the Bahamas featured in House Beautiful. Here is what she used -

Painted metal palms add whimsy to the foyer. Chippendale fan chairs, Circa Who. Mirrors, the Raj Company. Ginger jars, Two's Company. Jute rug, Serena & Lily.

Here are some great ways to recreate the feel of this space with different ideas, options, and pieces I have found. Some are very budget friendly as well.

Peacock Chair - $259 with free shipping

Cole & Son Palm Jungle Wallpaper in Blue and White

Rope Mirror - $39.99

Paint palm trees on the walls like this example by Tom Scheerer or stencil them

39" Ginger Jars

Serena & Lily Round Jute Rug - now 20% off

Starburst Mirror

Blue and White Fish Bowl Planter - plant a pair of these with real palms

Blue Grasscloth Wallpaper

An Example of Vintage Palm Tree Sconces

A Vintage Palm Tree Chandelier

A Scalloped Lantern in White

A Gilded Palm Tree Chandelier

And if the sky is the limit with your budget,  a pair of 18th century gilt carved palm trees measuring 9' 8" for $95,000.

Gilt Palm Trees

Or perhaps this pair of wall mounted Jansen torchieres measuring 9' 3."
